How to Throw Knives (for Beginners)

someone showed me how to throw a 6-7" knife, but they held it by the blade when they threw. is that incorrect? also, what should your stance be? i use to throw darts, but i know it's not quite the same thing. i guess i need some on hands instruction. i enjoyed your video, thank you for sharing.
