This was a really informative video! We were initially searching for 'recycling in Japan' but did not see this video in the initial results. You may want to add the word 'recycle' in your title or description since foreigners may be more likely to search for that term over trash. As a foreigner I did not realize that *you sort all trash* in Japan . Keep up the great work!!

Why plastic bottles and some plastics containers are recyclable but plastics in general, like probably packages I suppose, are not recyclable and instead are burnable? Probably the plastic used is not the same material... Also, I found curious that plastic bags sometimes can go in the recyclable trash and not in the burnable. By the way, spray cans are like aluminum spray cans, they together with like beverage aluminum cans? How one poke a hole on the side? Like with a hammer and a nail? I reckon that just using a paper to soak everyday oil for cooking is fine, but what if I use way too much oil? I mean, in Japan there was not a system where people store oil in bottles and throw in a specific day for it to be recycled and made into biofuel? Thanks for the video, even if I myself still am a little bit confused the video was very thorough and probably the best out there about the subject. Good stuff.

The dirty plastic that can't properly clean like seasoning of instant noodle can throw into burnable trash? Bill paper, atm print paper going into paper recyle or burnable trash ? Glass bottle drink /sauce and alumunium can that can combine together or need to be separate? THANKS

I just moved in to Sumida city. I don't need to buy designated bags for the garbage?

I believe so! When I lived in Tokyo, I could use any plastic bag ! I think anywhere else like Chiba or saitama you need designated bags!

I have problem with plastic bags which had oily food in it, if I just simply clean it with water, there is no way I can wash all the oil out, in this case should I throw it as a burnable garbage or プラ garbage?

it depends on your region but around Tokyo, plastic bags in general are also considered burnable trash!
