Great top tip .. I have found that adding a third loop in opposing direction to last really secures the leader down to the bobbin stem. I’ve used string. as it has good grip but it is so untidy I’m sure it’s leading to uneven bobbin wind at the get go. (I have long leaders helps when plying) Gonna try weaving or crochet cotton now.,, so thank you !

I love this way of attaching leaders - I saw it in a Judith McKenzie video (I think she called the knot a 'lark's head on the bite') and have used it since. Another great video from you 🙂

I have the double hitch as well as utilizing the exposed threads on the bobbin. I have my leaders over them to help provide grip. I suppose if one was inclined to lightly sand the bobbin shaft that would help too.

I'll have to try that. I've tried taping, but found that too messy with gummy residue sticking to the bobbin; So I have tended to either just knot it like a shoe lace without the loops or winding it on by hand until it starts to feed.

Oooh this is useful! I always just wound a bit of it by hand to create some grip (those nano bobbins really are horribly slippery)
