Nice Emerger Mr.Clark ! I like the "Parachute" wing style patterns early in the year. The Wife and I drove over to Wyoming early this morning and got in a whole day on the Wind River below Boysen Reservoir. The Trout were a little sluggish early in the morning but the action picked up from about 9 a.m. on. We had a great day with each of us catching our limit and I caught and released one very spectacular Bull Brown Trout that nearly equaled my personal best for Brown Trout, it truly was a glorious day on the Wind River. Thanks Again for all the fantastic how to videos. Your Friends from the Old West, Randy & Tracie Hill.

Hi Randy, thanks. Yes like many emerger patterns you can adjust and adapt them. Remove the Krystal flash and give it a parachute hackle and it will float all day long.

Hi Barry Great pattern. I have a question for you! As I am 65 years old and my eyes are not what they used to be. When I make small flies I have a lot of trouble seeing what I do, even if I have a magnifying lamp. I'd like to know what way you have to make your little flies if you need a visual aid.
@Thefeatherbender3 жыл бұрын
Hi Pierre, Yes I have the same problem. I use a head set called Mega View, and they where distributed by Tiemco when I bought mine.

Thank you I buy it and I think this will help me. I just have to stay in place, if I want to have a good focus. Thanks again!

Nice flexible pattern, I assume decrease the number of CDC feathers as you get smaller. Thanks Barry

Thanks Lee. Yes or depending on how dense your individual CDC hackles are.
@rebeccabourland23903 жыл бұрын
Barry, how would you feel about using dyed CDC for aiding visibility on smaller patterns?

Hi Rebecca, Thats fine, I actually tie this one with two natural and one white CDC for when I'm fishing in low light conditions.

Excellent pattern, Barry I have a question, I have no finger prints and my finger tips always feel as if they have silicon on. Dubbing is a major problem. I gave tried waxes and easy dub not been much help. Any suggestions?
@Thefeatherbender3 жыл бұрын
Thanks John, yes, take a little square of rough sand paper and fold it so the sand paper is on both sides, hold it in one hand while you grip it with your index finger and thumb and rub them up and down a few times. It works a treat!

What is the purpose of tying in the cdc separate?
@Thefeatherbender3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dale, you'll find it much easier to match up the tips of each hackle, than tying them all in at once.
@Adipper3 жыл бұрын
Nice Midge BOC, thanks. Just curious, was the intent to add robustness/strength by tying three (3) CDC separately as oppose to stacking CDC for a consolidated tie down?

WHAAAAAAAAATTT...... THAT is an @$$ kicking fly ... simple but technical ! ok so you ask me Jeff what do you mean by this oxymoron? my answer is though not complicated in materials and tying methods, when combined it becomes a refined tie. For example tying in the cdc though you make it look easy and show a very important method of layering the feathers in (technique 2, the touching turns and rib is 1) it is not as easy as you make it look, your noodle has to be correct from the beginning, or your bulk build up may or may not work, the sparkle wing is a deliberate step before continuing the noodle, and then you have to get it right (correct) in front of the wing... super super cool pattern .. i can see with some relaxed patience i can probably pull off this fly.. This is a very good lesson on a few levels... that is if you take a good look... THANK YOU AGAIN.. i learned a lot.. J
