How to tie a Snell Knot on a Treble Hook

Litteraly so simple and its very strong for how simply it is my dads been fishing his whole life and i learned this knot today and did it and he was impressed he hasnt seen this knot for years and i did it so quick and easy for my first time infront of him

*Perfect size hook for hatchery catfish that weigh between 3-5 lbs. my lip hook almost all the time unless your bait is very much desired by the fish>>> **allabout.wiki/1004** It's very durable made from hardened steel, I believe. You can use it over and over. It never rusts in my tackle bag. I use a knot less snell with a 25 lb mono filament leader line from Kastking for this hook. Its point is very sharp and can easily land a thieving fish. We landed many catfish with this hook. Best purchased in packs of 25 which should last you throughout the season.*

See the loose wrap going over the top that could be trouble on a toothy critter. This will work but here is the stronger way. Run the line down though the eye and make a loop which you place on the hooks shank. The actual loop will face down the shaft. Then make about 7-8 wraps around the loop created the wraps will go downward . Then place the loose tag end through the loop you have created created . Wet the hook with some saliva and pull both loose ends to cinch the wraps tight. The line will slide under the wraps not over thus making a snell. Here as shown if a toothy crtitter cuts that loose wrap on top game over. Your basically making a snell just like a regular hook and the wraps will cinch up on the eye of the treble or as far as the trebles shaft will allow. For really nasty fish like an american Gar or muskie they make a wire product called knot to kinky and you can make the snell rig with the soft wire product
