How to tie a Van Wijk Knot

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite knots. It's quick to tie and not that many people rock it. The Van Wijk is a great knot for looking professional and still having some style.

This is how I learned to tie my first tie and man it was a doozey. The important things I learned were. 1. For the short end you are going to have to experiment with the height. 2. Think about using a tie with a skinnier wide end because this makes going through the final knot easier. 3. When he says to tuck the tie between your fingers at 1:38 DO IT!!!!!! It makes this knot so much easier, why he never emphasized it IDK, but do it.

While the dimple under the knot is normal in America, in many European countries it’s considered a bit vulgar/peasant. In Dutch that ‘tie dimple’ is called a “pisgoot” meaning piss chute or piss gutter.

Are you sure? The Dutch pronunciation is "vaɪk", like bike, but starting with a v, but it is totally possible the pronunciation changed later in the US.
