If all yt tutorials would be like this, with no useless adverts and speech, this world would've become much better.

Thank you for this video! I am making face masks and everywhere is sold out of elastic so I am using this knot with shoelaces to make adjustable ear straps. Thanks!

Hannah English I just did the same thing but to tie around the head! And in my opinion the ties are more comfortable than the elastic.

Natasha Corpuz yeah less pull and will fit everyone since they’re adjustable! At least this pandemic is bringing out the craftiness in people haha

let me just tell you WhyKnot in regards to the numerous 'easy' 'tutorials' that people have clearly filmed (surely with the best of intentions) but perhaps not viewed themselves prior to uploading. WhyKnot? because until I found THIS clip:a step by step guide was one that lead to utter frustration and maddening confusion. Those of us seeking to 'learn how' are people that NEED to actually SEE what is going on under the hands, with the ropes and loops etc literally STEP by STEP. we can't do it by listening to someone and seeing that they can do it. WhyKnot? because the one successful slipknot we eventually manage to fluke might well be applied directly to ones own neck in hopes of putting the quickest end to the hopeless pursuit of simply making a necklace fit the way it should!!!! by tying a frickin Knot!! Anyway, thank you for this actual video tutorial, my necklace is tied, I am no longer a failure at knot tying, and I'm grateful to the creator of this easy step by step instruction- mainly for releasing me from an almost obsessive need to get this done. whyKnot just let this be the very first option when searching "how to" vids in future xox

Very clear instructions on a useful knot. I just hung a DIY camping hammock underquilt prototype and I plan to use this knot on the shock cord suspension to allow adjustment. It does work with the shock cord but it's a little tricky because the elastic cord tends to bite more than most ropes. One must not overtighten each bend.

Can we do this on a fishing line. I need to hang a weight using a fishing line but need it to be at an exact height. I need to use a fishing line, because it needs to be invisible.

Has anyone tested this this with fishing line? i need this knot done on a fishing line for a school project, however, when the knot is done, and the ends are pulled, it never locks in place. Not sure whether its due to the lack of friction on a fishing line, or i just plainly tied it wrongly. Please advise!

Most knots properties depend a lot on what they are tied in. This knot seems to me a little less secure than some, but if you used a springier more squash-able type of rope, it should hold a fair weight.

Thats one taut line hitch on each rope/rope ends
@garyg24 жыл бұрын
no it's not a "taut line hitch" (aka. "rolling hitch"). this "adjustable bend knot" uses two "adjustable grip hitches" (aka. "Cawley adjustable hitch") and is slightly different from the taut line hitch in the way that last loop works and finishes the knot. they basically end up doing the same thing, and using 2 taut line hitches is probably better than using 2 adjustable grip hitches, but they are slightly different
