good, i like it. i would still try to locate notch quickie on me but good :) (so it's basically alpine butterfly tied on an object.) good video. thank you!

I have come to like the end-of-line Aloine Butterfly instead over the Bowline, as I’ve had Bowlines come loose when not under stress. The Butterfly is more secure.

Thx for the tip and I am wondering how does it work when you say “tie another butterfly for rescue purpose” in the end of the video. Could you explain it ? Thx

Running bowline (with Yosemite finish) vs running alpine butterfly. Does it matter much between the two, such as for base anchors?
@BartlettArboristSupply Жыл бұрын
Both work great, really comes down to preference and what will be more efficient for the climber.
@confusingdot Жыл бұрын
@@BartlettArboristSupply What would make one more efficient than the other? Is it just how much experience they've had with either to tie it faster?
@BartlettArboristSupply Жыл бұрын
Yep! That, and what they feel is more comfortable, how the knot loads versus unloads, etc. Some like to pay attention to the extreme details, which is super awesome.

Seems like youde want a friction hitch instead, so if there was slack on the rope it wouldnt shift position...

What rope is that?

Your long and closer shots are confusing the knot's method.

We'll work on that, thank you!

I have watched your video a few times. I was unable to tie a true alpine butterfly hitch. the video below is how i learned to tie and confirm the knot. Can you tie the knot again and show the back of the knot please. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmnHmYeHrLejaKM
