Thank you this was really helpful especially about creating rigs and attaching to main line by just feeding the rig and winder through a big loop. Easy when you know how 😮

Clever using braid on mainline. When picking up all that line on the strike, nearly no stretch at all apart from what's in rig. Good idea man

Yep. Once started doing that, I never looked back. I know people who did the same. In my opinion it's much better for river/float fishing.

Shot sizes on some floats are given in Style weights 4x12, especially on pole floats this is from continental fishing & can be quite confusing look for a conversion chart online. Tight lines 🎣✨️

I was thinking it's Brittish thing. Yes, I am aware of conversions but it doesn't change the fact it's annoying/not very clever.

This is fantastic, instant interested in this guy, so is trotting for roach (a very English thing) something you did in your country of origin, or have you taken it up since you have been here?
@AndrewsKnots
@AndrewsKnots 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, this rig is widely used through the Europe, just maybe 'shirt button' shotting style is unique to UK, I think.

hi andrew, awesome content! Can I have some of your advice please? I have a Drennan 2BB stick float but i am not sure how to shot it correctly. How many shots do I need to add and of which size? I am very confused.. Thank you :)
@AndrewsKnots
@AndrewsKnots 4 жыл бұрын
I would guess 2 shots of BB or 0.8 g. To be fair, if a float I am looking to use hasn't got rating in universal/metric units (grams), then I would guesstimate it by putting as many number 8 shots as needed and would not look for conversions..

...... or number 4 = 0.2g x 8. = 1.6g. The old school of thought was a number 4 for every foot (30cm) of water. Therefore a 8x4 would be used in 8 foot of water as a rough guide.
