Once strapped down you also gotta say “that’s not going anywhere” and flick the strap to hear the boing

The tire bonnets are the best method. If you tie to the chassis the suspension bounce can make the straps come off or get loose.

If you don't have tire bonnets (which is the best) then you need to tie down to the lowest point possible and as close to the tire as possible!! The idea is to tie down where there is the least amount of suspension bounce as possible!!

As a 25 year trucker.. I look at how people strap down their ATV's and sxs. Its unreal how many people are completely clueless. The winch is not a legal method of keeping the atv on the trailer. I've seen straps over the seat. I've seen straps over the racks... No good. If your straps don't seem to be stretching the length of your machine,,, its probably not right. also when it comes to D O T ... make sure the labels on the straps are kept in good condition. A strap that a officer can't read the weight rating becomes a zero. In Canada our pickups are licensed as commercial vehicles and are pickups have to follow the same guidelines as transport trucks. Insecure load fines in ONTARIO CANADA start at 395 dollars. Make sure its secure. Open tailgates... if anything is able to fall out the rear of the pickup... thats considered a Insecure load. I hope this info helps someone who doesn't know how serious load security is. If you don't know... ask a trucker.

Why don’t more strap companies use a lock over the end of the hook to ensure the hook doesn’t come off the tie down point. Such a small detail can make a HUGE difference in security.

There seems to be a big controversy between attaching to a frame and tying down each tire. Have you ever considered putting out a video that shows the pros and cons of both methods?

Do you compress the machine? The guys I hunt with use the winch to compress the front and ratchet straps to compress the back. I have an enclosed and used 4 straps to a low point with no compression and it didn't move either. So what's the correct method?
@A-man-100 Жыл бұрын
You never use the winch to tie down or it will cause damage to the winch.

Judging by the full size tires, it looks like it would be a ~3000lb axle. Should be plenty for a 1500lb SXS.

I’m sure a multimillion dollar corporation has probably thought it through enough to be able to haul this thing around properly. 3-4000lb axle, I wouldn’t be worried about it one bit. I don’t pay attention to them things that much anyway, but why is that one 300lbs heavier than it’s competition? As much as they cost, I’d rather have a Wrangler.

Tire bonnets are a great option and we use those as well. But going to a low point on the frame like we do in this video is completely secure and even recommended by some side by side manufacturers. Also, the straps like we use in this video with the soft loop on one end and a carabiner on the other also make sure the strap won't come off.
