Geode? Gravity? Purple? Oh be still my heart. I especially like that the hood ties look like parts of geodes. so cool.

Beautiful, Angie! I made a Buffalo hoodie last year with this tie and process you shared. It is one of my favorites. I absolutely love this style. Those Buffalo hoodies are so comfortable to wear, and they dye amazing. When you were applying the dye I thought it would turn out much more monochrome than it did. You have a lot of splits and the pink was kind of surprising to me. It really came out beautifully!

Thank you! I agree, the Buffalo hoodies are so soft and comfy, and they dye up so nice. I am looking forward to purchasing more this fall. 🙂

Your purples look so cool together and the geodes are really fab, Angie. I saw the cat on the sleeve a split second before you mentioned it. Lol. Thanks so much for sharing.

That’s neat that the gravity dye will wick upwards above the main source. In my mind I envisioned the gravity dye portion always had to be in a downward slant position. Fantastic outcome on this hoodie. Yay purple 💟

Yes, it pulls the muck up and through the fabric. I didn't quite know what to expect the first time I did this technique. However, I've had the dye wick up fabric before so I assumed that it would work.

Trying this right now. Also...I can't be the only one who watched twice, cause of the fly on the table. Lol. 😂

That is too funny! It is really annoying when a fly gets into my dye space. 😂

@ 10:50. Hey Angie 👋 I'm getting ready to do my geode hoodie 😊. I wanted to ask when you set up your rack is it fairly level or do you have a slight tilt. And does cool weather effect the process time?
@FunEndeavorsАй бұрын
Hi! Normally I try to find a level spot in the yard, but it does have a tilt sometimes. It's not necessary though. I usually allow my items to process longer if the weather is cooler. If you are doing the process outside, I would let the ice melt and the dye to get to the edge of the hoodie with it outside. Then I would bring the container inside somewhere where it is warmer and where it won't make a mess to process. If it isn't possible to bring it inside, I would allow it to process for a longer amount of time.

when i watch your videos it looks as if you barely pull the sinew tightly but typically get such white lines while I pull to the ends of the earth and only get white lines on a few while the rest end up thicker because the dye ran under the sinew 😭 i need to know what I am doing wrong lol.
@FunEndeavors8 ай бұрын
Are you using a sinew puller? I had the same issue before I started using a puller. I used to leave the sinew on the roll and use the roll of sinew to pull my lines tight. Sometimes I got great definition lines, but it wasn't consistent. I bought a sinew puller and was amazed at how much better my lines were. The sinew puller fits my hand much better, and having the hard item to pull against has drastically improved my lines. If you don't own one, I bought my colorful one from "Boredom With Jenn". However, I've seen people use really creative things as pullers. Such as a wooden tart tamper, a thick wooden rattle, etc...It just needs to be very sturdy and fit your hand well.
