Good looking bug, recently listened to the orvis podcast where your shop talked about wiggle flies.

I've noticed that sometimes these flies really attract the bluegill so I tie some in smaller 12-10 hook sizes when nothing seems to hit the big ones. I have caught bass on surprisingly small slim profile foam poppers for bluegill and crappie. Thanks, great pattern

You said you cut the foam 1/4” wide. How long do you cut it?
@Podobed3 жыл бұрын
probably a 1/2" longer than the total hook shank
@Podobed3 жыл бұрын
so 2x the length of the hook with a 1/4" over the front and back- at least it looks close.

Zap a gap is a very strong glue. You want to use it on this style of fly because the foam can spin. This will solve that problem. I hope that helps. Tim Landwehr
