I love watching the rod busters tie all damn day long! But def NOT with this method! Pliers and your rod reel!! I see guys use linesman style pliers (with spring loaded handles and one handle is curved for grip) and front end style nippers! Pretty sure showing up to the job with this setup is the equivalent of me showing up to a job site with one of those automatic wire strippers!

I was lucky enough that my first job used an electric rebar tie. Point and tie. We ran out of the rolls that go into the rebar tie and tying them by hand wasted an extra 2 hours for us. Now I can brag in the future like an old head and tell them I tied rebar with my bare hands back in the day😂

Put that Whirlie Bird down and slowly walk away. Just using snap ties like that aren’t as strong and stable as a saddle or a crossed saddle tie. Get a reel for a spool of wire. Get your bars in place tied with crossed saddle ties then go back through and do the snap tie to get your tie percentage for your bar inspection. Tying 2 bars over #5 these ties aren’t long enough. Besides you run out of these quickly. If you need to hold something plumb tie it into place.
