Changed the speed to .25x and was able to get a near perfect, tight knot. She demonstrates it differently than some other channels and I found her method is easier to start.

Domo. Actually the first video on this subject that I've seen to demonstrate tightening the knot.

Wow, great guide. I managed to make it look decent already on my second try. Thanks so much.

My guess is that she has done this many times. She makes it look effortless.

Ah, the elusive Bushido wakizashi. I wish the Bushido wakizashi and tanto were more readily available.

That's what I call skillful hands, she makes it look so simple lol, but I guess with practice anyone can do it !!

This way seems more efficient. I’ll try using this method. The way I saw on a another seems like extra work. She made this so effortless

I wish they wouldn't tie the sageo like this in the factory...or at least make sure the saya lacquer is fully dry first. Every Hanwei sword I've bought with sageo tied like this left the saya all scuffed up when I untied it. Nothing like spending $1500 on a sword to find the saya lacquer damaged from the sageo knot.
@alicewong81903 жыл бұрын
The background sounds like Chinese, probably a 99dollar sword
@Curiousonic2 жыл бұрын
She demonstrates a wonderful technique. However, it was dreadful to watch her use a metal plier against the lacquer. I wonder if that caused the damage to your saya. How about using a tool that is softer than the lacquer, like a plier with rubber around it.

Thankyou ! This helped me tie my knot very easily

We need that extra bit u cut off if u wear it around saya not just U shape in front, the way it restricts saya ability to slide , if cord was longer it would be easier to tie in away that actually prevents it from sliding
@3Rayfire9 жыл бұрын
She has beautiful hands. Is this for wear or display though?
@saikou14909 жыл бұрын
this is just for decoration..if you want to wear it, untie the whole thing and tie it to your clothes..like your hakama or something
@kitsuneyoukai55609 жыл бұрын
If you mean the sword It would not be practical unless it´s an Wakizashi. Because as you most likely already noticed the handle is way too short
@toxi879 жыл бұрын
Kitsune Youkai that one is a wak, it looks like the bushido series. Really one of the prettiest of the older lines.

The Chinese way of doing it. Of course, though, these are pushed out ASAP. Using pliers and metal tools; knicking the saya, weaves are not even. All you need is your hands, a chopstick (or pencil, strong twig, etc.) and some patience to make a stronger and more presentable sageo if you want to do this yourself.
@lowpezarty86407 жыл бұрын
how do u tie the sageo evenly I always get it uneven one loop is bigger then the other
@grayblackhelm64687 жыл бұрын
Lowpez Arty Usually this is because the knot is uneven. Start with even ends, and you should be fine.
@grayblackhelm64687 жыл бұрын
Lowpez Arty Try checking out Adam Novath, here on KZbin. He's got a good little channel, mostly katana videos, some gun collection videos. But he's got maybe twelve Sageo videos you should check out.
