Really great abrasion resistance and though I've never put the Big Game line kzbin.infoUgkxQ4x31pJVpClzhxzNFeILZYTW7Xbs7ZIF (any poundage) through an official test it always seems to break well above rated poundage. This line stretches a very good amount before it breaks and does well in saltwater too. Not the best line for a spinning reel in my opinion, especially if you're planning on using it for lures only due to it having a bit of memory but still a great line whether filling a spool, using as top shot or strictly for leader line. I've bought a bunch of Big game line in the past and plan on continuing to do so in the future.

Thanks for sharing this. 50 years ago my Father showed me this knot and for the life of me I could not remember it or its use in fishing. As soon as you started I remembered it and how to do it. I just remembered he kept saying see if you see the figure 8 you did it right. I was 6 or 7 probably. Anyway thanks for sharing.

Would this be good for say adding 2 jigs to the main line and fishing two jigs at once?

rather than passing the line behind I just pinch the first loop and twist it once and then pass the tag loop through it and pull tight, or spin the first loop twice works even better, the finished loop wont slip

There are more ways to tie this simple knot than any other knot I know.

Why not use a bigger string. All I saw was fingers.

is this stronger than a surgeons knot to use on mono to attach a hook link ?

Our experience with the testing of knots has taught us that the best knot for one line does not necessarily translate across to another line. We can suggest a very simple method to compare knots which does not involve the use of scales and can be used while on the bank. Take a length of the line to be used and tie the two different knots to be compared at each end, pull to check which one survives. I would repeat this a few times to cover the chances of any badly tied knots. Hope this is of help.
