No, steamlink is a coated dyneema. Dyneema is a totally different material to braid. On a weight for weight basis, Dyneema is 15 times stronger than steel wire.

Nope Dyneema is not Braid and the translucent coating is again unique.

@@PallatraxCatchMoreFish NEWS FLASH: all of those different brands are made from diffrent materials, Spectra (made by Honeywell) or Dyneema (made by a company in the Netherlands called DSM) or Izanas or UHMWPE, and these materials are so incredibly similar that they’re known in the industry as “sister” lines. Both are made from gel-spun polyethylene. Both offer the same characteristics, and both cost about the same. So, what’s the difference? There really isn’t any. Some lines claim to be rounder then others but that aside, it’s all more or less the same stuff. (Note - don’t confuse braid with “fused” lines, which are heated to fuse some of the fibers together. These lines are more abrasion-resistant then braids, but are also stiff, tough to cast, and tougher to knot.) Oh and all the UHMWPE fibers get Braided in the end its just a matter of how tight. So the Dyneema fiber is also Braided. Dont believe the BS from the Angling industry. There is nothing unique about it. The funny thing is you can all Google it its knowledge for all the ppl out there. There you can also read that alot of patents are expired so all the fiber stuff gets even more confusing wich is good for the fairy tale Angling industry.

@@Disten27Well I think you have material science knowledge here. Obvious to see. Whilst on the topic, I wonder about the Chinese braids, too.

@@AJM9395 I am just curious and as i said you can all google it. And after some patents expired the chinese came up with some fibers them self and now the chaos is perfect. And after the industry created names like Dyneema-Fiber, Spectra-Fiber, Coramid-Fiber, PE-Fiber, HPPE-Fiber, HMPE-Fiber, Super-PE Fiber, Ultra- Volume-Fiber, Micro Dyneema , PE-Braid, Microfilament, Microbraid you as a consumer will never know whats up. So here comes the hour for the Fairy tale Angling industry who can now tell you everything there "marketing BS´ers" come up with 🤣. Oh and one more thing there are not alot of manufacturer in the world that make the good stuff but there are alot of Brands out there telling you they are the sh.. and the best hm why is that 🤣 ?

Love how carp rigs get new names just because it has different braid or something. Although I agree it is a decent rig! I’ve fished with something similar for years and almost the same amount of turns down the shank of the hook , maybe one or two extra , and my loss rate has been very low tbh

Sorry Bro!! 😮 I don't think you have actually reinvented the wheel!! It does look like a nice rig, but there are a lot of less complicated rigs out there that will work just as well. I hope you had a nice cup of tea after you made this rig? The length of time it takes to make the rig, you deserve one 😊 👍
@PallatraxCatchMoreFish

certainly not claiming to have reinvented the wheel but the components i.e. Steamlink, Gripz and Serious Shrink - think you will be surprised on how quick this rig can be created and how efficient it is.
