Spar hitch and exploding spar hitch would do just as well IMO if you don't want to do the harder to untie cinstrictor hitch.

It really depends on the application. I'd still use the constrictor when starting any lashing but as a hitch this knot is great. Easy, secure and won't jam. Giver a try and let us know how it goes.
