I love watching surgeons stitching-probably the most inaccurate description. Sometimes I have to have little tumors removed in my surgeons office and I always ask can I watch. He thinks it’s fantastic and his nurse freaks out because I’m watching him cut them out of me. The best part is watching him stitch me back together. It’s absolutely mesmerizing.

There's an additional problem: Works only for individual ties but with the usual reel of ligature material in one hand, it won't really work well. Same with a needle in the needle driver. Cinching a double throw works well for only some materials but cinching a single throw works better for more. Anyhow, fun to watch for YT.

Doc., are you really sure that's a "square knot"? One can't slide and cinch a square knot, but a double throw is intended for the purpose.

You're correct. He is making the first throw of a surgeons knot, not even a square knot. He then finished the sugeons know with a single handed throw. So this is neither a square knot, nor a proper demonstration of the two handed technique.
