How do you run the wires when you install this girdle?
@thoroughbreddiesel11 ай бұрын
The wires will run along the ribs of the rocker box.

@@thoroughbreddiesel Thanks! Yeah that was hard since I had new harnesses. Had to stack the wires appropriately in the clear tube and then force that into the ribs of the box (around the mounting bolt tube) with a flat head screwdriver, and a lot of force. Got it done though, and it's running like a champ!

I just installed a billet valve cover (2012 Cummins). After installing I’m showing a lot of white smoke out of the exhaust. Could this be a symptom of a damaged injector harness?

Yes, and there should be a check engine light associated with it. Make sure that you don’t have the crankcase vent plugged.

How do you know if you "stretched the stud"?

Response of the solenoid will be effected, even causing a injector code.

You really wont, so just don’t do it. They only need to be finger tight.

Does it matter if you swap the wires on the injectors

No polarity on the solenoid wires doesn’t matter.

Or just buy new solenoids they’re cheap live and learn. I don’t recommend learning the hard way but in an unfortunate event the stud does break and while waiting for a new solenoid in the mail soldering does in fact work, Temporarily... had one of mine break off on my LB7 I had screwed it on most the way by hand went to torque it and she let loose wasn’t even bottomed out. Was in a pinch and had to get the truck and my holiday trailer home from a camping trip so I took a chance and connected my own ring terminal to the injector harness pre tinned both the broken stud and the ring terminal joined them laid a nice layer of rtv over the connection to mitigate fatigue due to vibration. Started and ran awesome. Well for 2 months it did then the wire had came off the terminal and well grabbed the solenoid off my tool box and proceeded to repair the oops. Quite frankly repairing your old injectors is pretty easy keep clean and take your time and almost anyone can save the $$$$$ in your wallet

Buy a new solenoid, 20/30$ off amazon. Easy to replace. I busted mine trying to tourqe them to 11 inch pounds.

Yea I always buy em anyway but needed the truck so I did what I had to do. While waiting for the new solenoid. I paid 80 bucks Canadian shipped to my door. But was a Bosch replacement not a overseas 3rd world country type. It’s one thing on a Cummins where you can swap the head gasket on your lunch break. On an lb7 which is what i own I much prefer to not go into the valve covers more then I need to. Can do injectors on em now in less then 6 hours taking my time but still

Have you ever had an issue with changing a solenoid? And not recalibrating that injector?@@careythibodeau2100

How does the nut not come loose?
@UtahBowHunter216 жыл бұрын
The solenoid can be replaced if a stud is broken. The entire injector doesn't need to be replaced.
