This works brilliantly. No more shedding Pom poms.

If it comes apart before you’ve tied the knot, it’s time to learn rug hooking! 😉

Glad I could help! It's a little tricky but it becomes easy after a few.

Can you show how you actually trim the pom?! Mine always look kind of egg shaped or I get carried away and make it much smaller.
@CalumetKnits Жыл бұрын
I keep smooshing it and trimming all the way around. Shake it really good and repeat.

Great video on the Pom Poms love the tutorial. But quick question do you have row counts for the beautiful hat you are attaching the Pom Pom to. Would really like to try this style for my grandson. Thank you 😊

Thank you! Yes, this hat is part of my Team Spirit pattern (it is also part of a bundle). You can find it here: www.etsy.com/listing/1126126557/ultimate-knitting-machine-cheat-sheet?click_key=464b914b7bc6760688ec2d96ffb01a89f1cf861f%3A1126126557&click_sum=115bd684&ref=shop_home_active_10&sts=1

I had really high hopes, but just tried this & it did not work for me. Bummed & frustrated. If anyone else learns any way they've actually done that really works for them, please let me know. tia

What didn't work? Did you feel it tightening? You should be able to feel it tightening down without backing out.
@playhooky Жыл бұрын
@@CalumetKnits Yes I felt it tightening. What didn't work was after I tied it as said, I was still able to pull pieces of yarn out of the pompom. I'm sorry but it's the truth. What I did after that was I got some thick thread - like upholstery thread, & hand stitched it back & forth going several different directions through the center of the pom. Then I wasn't able to pull any pieces of yarn out. I'm making some for hats & I want to make it as safe as possible to be around small kiddos.

@@playhooky Stitching or doing a line of fabric glue in the center are the only real ways to be sure from my own experience. But the hitch used has to be tightened down insanely tight to really hold anything and it's meant for bundling twigs more than something as malleable, and slippery, as yarn.
