The only thing for me after all these years of tinting...don't like rounding or timing my patterns on the front windows...looks like you have a glass to trim on takes a sec to turn around and use your glass or use the back door glass but not right in the middle...never fails you'll have that one passenger say n point..."whats this scratch on your window" on a brand new car...if you happen to etch it...n when u grab a scratch piece of tint or when you roll out tint make sure the linear is facing you...don't know if you tell new viewers that...n use olfa blades not cheapo ones or carbon they will etch...my two cents...

Quick question Tint Studio: I lay the tint down and everything is perfect but there is like dried up water/soap in between the window and tint and it makes the window look dirty. But I can’t clean in between obviously because I laid the tint already. How do I fix this?! Lol
@punktalley
@punktalley 3 жыл бұрын
Be sure to get it squeegee down before laying the film. Flush it all down with the slip solution. I use a single edge blade then scuff then squeegee down. Then spray a generous amount of solution to push it all down. Sounds like you didn't clean the glass completely and left a "railroad track".
@robertl955
@robertl955 10 ай бұрын
@@punktalley wait, so you squeegee the window before laying down the tint? I see everyone spraying the window prior to laying dow the film.

@@robertl955 after you blade it and sometimes I will use a clay bar in between blade-ing and squeegee right before you go to peel. If you don't have a peel board and you use the outside of the vehicle's glass to peel be sure to treat that as a glass that is being filmed before making your pattern. I use my tint squeegee to do my final clean. You want to be clean on both sides of the glass so spray a very light mist around your work area thats near the film. Do that before you clean the glass by spraying glass down, scrub the field area of the glass and scrape the edges on the face side of the glass then squeegee clean till glass is somewhat dry the mist glass last time before the film is applied. Now this mist is a heavier mist to run anything small (bubble makers) to the bottom of the glass. Be sure this pass is squeegeed dry. Now the pattern is cut and any clean up cuts have already been completed. Spray class the glass heavy and open the felt on the door panel to push any last bubble makers that could may have escaped the prepped process down past the area of the glass being filmed. Its an extra 2 minutes of time that is not needed 9 times out of 10 installs but 20 minutes spent on 10 installs is less time it takes making sure every tint job is clean and not having to be re-done. Because you can't do a "peel and re-tint" in less time than the time wasted on prep.

@@punktalley Thanks for the detailed response, it's greatly appreciated. Perhaps you can help me with one more item that I'm having trouble with, how can I keep from cutting up the outside rubber when cutting the outline of the tint lol. I see everyone say just lift the blade 1 click, but I always seem to go into the rubber for some reason.

the rubber presses right on the edge on the boarder so you hardly have any space to lay the film on the glass before it hits that edge. cuts need to be very close
