How To Track Chatbot Activity In Google Analytics 4

Hello! Thank you for the video. I have a question: Do you think it's possible to track conversions that were facilitated by a chatbot? What I mean is, our website features an AI chatbot with the primary goal of converting leads. Is there a method for us to monitor how many of the website's conversions originated from people who engaged with the chatbot? Regarding the tag you mentioned in the video, which is related to whether the chatbot is opened or closed, it might not be the best option. For example, the chatbot widget opens automatically when a user enters the website. In such cases, this tracking method may not work. One alternative approach could be tracking user actions when they type anything into the chatbot, considering that as an interaction. From there, we could trace how many conversions were influenced by an interaction with the chatbot beforehand. How would you suggest approaching this? Apologies for the lengthy message! Those are great questions! 1) If your chatbot app has some integration with GA4 i.e it sends data to the data stream you specify then tracking actual leads that originate from it shouldn't be a problem. On the other hand (and it also answers your 2nd question) interaction inside chatbot is NOT visible to GA4/GTM cause technically they happen on an embedded website, so you can't do much about them except observe for outer DOM changes. Now this opens another question - what's the purpose of your website if you force open another, embedded website on every visitor (especially if it doesn't give you mch control over tracking...)
