How to Track WhatsApp Clicks in Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

I like your bookmark bar, by the way, such tracking can only track the user clicking a button. How can it track the user starting a conversation on WhatsApp?

Unfortunately, we cannot track the start of the convo via GA4 because WhatsApp is a third-party tool (and we cannot insert a tracker). If I find a workaround I will definitely make a video about it!

We can track how many users click the WA button, but there’s another step (user has to initiate conversation) which happens on the WA website and unfortunately we cannot track. If I find a workaround I will make a video about it!

Thank you sir! Btw, what if I have 2 WhatsApp (WA) number? Should I create 2 tags: WA #1 and WA #2, or just add another WA link in the "some link clicks" conditions for fire triggers? Example: Tag WA #1: Fire triggers clicks url contains: whatsapp/number#1 whatsapp/number#2 or Tag WA #1: Fire triggers clicks url contains: whatsapp/number#1 whatsapp/number#2 Tag WA #2: Fire triggers clicks url contains: whatsapp/number#2
