If you're a guitar player, you've bought gear. If you've owned guitars, you've probably sold gear, but most guitar players are scared of trading instruments.
This week I traded my Stratocaster for a Fender Vibrolux Reverb.
In this video I explain why you should trade gear, when you should and how to create the deal to help people on both sides get a fair shake.
Here are some affiliate links for a guitar repair pack that you can bring with you to fix your guitar on the fly and check out instruments you might buy.

My experience with trades has been very similar: most of the time they just don’t make sense. I’m stoked you found one that worked! I’ve found that if you want something that a friend has, assume you’ll need to trade just a little more from your end to get what you want. It shows that you value the friendship more than money. That amp sounds killer! Thanks for sharing the info Jeremy! 🙌

Hey Jeremy, dont know if you still own the amp but I bought one too years ago. I wasnt really happy with it. It sounded a little sterile to me and didnt have the warmth tone. When I open up the amp it had a circuit board which I was disappointed. It was not like the good old eyelet board. I ripped it out and installed an eyelet board and wired it like Fender did back in the day. I replaced transformers and installed new capacitors and resistor along with cloth wiring. Oh and nos tubes. I found that vintage tone.........

I'm thinking of buying something similar it's 1974 Vibrolux reverb amp all original , the odd thing to me is they call this a Reverb Amp but the first channel has no reverb correct ? I already have a 1981 Music Man 112 RD that is just amazing and it's a hybrid ! Great video as always enjoyed it .

Those are not the original speakers, the originals are JENSEN alnicos, but looks like someone swapped them out for what look like Vintage Jensens, maybe ceramic, so not a bad swap

Interesting to hear what you think of the amp after using it for a while. I love these amps but they are noisy and have crummy Reverb. I bought one just to do the Moyer mods to. Regardless, cool amp.
@JeremySheppard
@JeremySheppard 5 жыл бұрын
The reverb is pretty faint at lower volumes. Tell me about the Moyer mods.
@bbmade
@bbmade 5 жыл бұрын
Essentially this Mark Moyer guy went through comparing this design to the original. He came up with some mods to really quiet these amps and disconnect the reverb from the normal channel. Might be some other stuff too I’d have to look up my notes on it. I have mine in my shop to dive into as winter hits. At gigs you don’t notice any noise, at home I do.
@LeviBulger
@LeviBulger 5 жыл бұрын
The Moyer mods are a must with this amp. Btw, this is not a reissue. This was an original circuit fender did in the 90s. Since this one doesn't have reverb on the normal channel, it sounds like someone already did the mod to it. You'll know because it will hiss madly without it. And the reverb will sound extremely lush after the mod. Almost like a standalone reverb unit.

Felix Blacksher - Yes the amp hisses like crazy in the original. I think it was a Bruce Zinky design but I’d have to double check that. At a gig you don’t notice the noise and it sounds good stock. Looking forward to doing the mods to mine.

The Vibrolux Reverb Custom Reissue is a noisy, I mean noisy, amplifier. I believe the better reissue Vibrolux is the Silverface.

@@tenniswilliam Oh, no. Nothing at all overstated in my comment. The blackface Vibrolux is a noisy amplifier.
