"Risk free" meaning you wait until it exploded to where a few shares cover the cost of your original price? What? Its not "Risk free" If anything its "Free" and that is only if your stock explodes like crazy which in most cases is the objective of people entering the stock market. Even people with a basic education of the stock market can think of this.

You are no longer "risking" what you originally put in. How is that not "risk free"?
@harmansidhu24154 жыл бұрын
Because at first when you put in the money if it doesnt explode you can't cover you cost you invested with fewer shares. i haven't even started inversting and i feel like even a 12 year old can do this math. Its like if you go to a casino with $100 and then you win and now have $150. So, if you want to be safe you put $100 in your pocket and play with $50 you won.

Sorry for that but I think its not a huge idea or its me who do not understand it. So you have to buy 7 stocks and have to wait until the prices raising until 2 stock price will be the same or more than 7. What if the price will be NEVER so big? So you have to wait and maybe you have luck, maybe not. Maybe you have to wait 30 years, maybe 2 months... Or am I misunderstanding something?

Classic market fallacy. The numbers on the screen matter your unrealized p/l is your money. the only way to have no risk is to not play. If you set your stop loss at even or sell out your cost basis your risk is the unrealized gains you currently have. It’s not opportunity cost, it’s just a poor way to think about your money

Hey... Interesting approach on risk taken out the initial investment... However in Nat's example I guess value improved about 400% right? What if 5 out of 7 shares are sold, to take the profits to work in some other investment or wait for a pull back and enter again if he feels like? Then leaving the original money still making profit if that is the trend... Just a thought, but you gave an idea in my long portafolio since last week s&p reached back to 3.200 and got back to 3.000 this week... Gotta make some scenarios in excel tomorrow ;)

@@claytrader I did watch. You are assuming the stock goes up. You are also talking about protecting your profits AFTER the stock goes up (which would also involve paying capital gains tax- which you don't mention). Protecting profits isn't a bad idea, however, it is not the same as 'risk free' trading. Again, if you own a stock, it can up up (to infinity) or down (to zero). Aside from arbitrage (which doesn't last long), there is no 'risk free' way to trade stocks. Tesla has fallen 9% in the past three days. No disrespect but I think you are using the wrong words to describe what you are showing.
