From a pilot, this song is one of the CLOSEST feelings you can get to flying by yourself. Check out "Aurora Awakes" (John Mackey) for a similarly amazing song.
@Jarsia5 жыл бұрын
I've always wanted to fly. Never even been on an airliner. But I mean REALLY fly, just strap into a single engine and have fun. I just never thought it was financially in reach. I remember when HtTYD came out, it just looked like another run of the mill animated flick. I saw posters while I was seeing a marathon screening of the LotR trilogy. Just a month ago I decided to watch the movies on a lark, and I've honestly been blown away by the detail, the stories, the characters, and of course, the music. That first flight sequence was so amazingly put together it made me determined to own my own plane so I could feel what it's like to fly for myself. Once I turn over a few investment properties and get a house, I'm gonna get a pilots license and buy a Tital T51 kit(75% replica of the WW2 P51 fighter). When I've realized that dream, I'll remember that it was this movie that inspired me to do it.

If you notice the beginning is toothless’ theme and is at a higher tone, then when hiccup stands up his theme starts playing (0:40) and toothless’ theme fades out since the 2 aren’t on the same key. Later on hiccups theme fades and toothless’ comes back, separately, and the grand finale, is toothless’ theme and hiccups theme go to an octave that they both have and I just think that’s so beautiful

i'm gonna be controversial and say that this is probably the most recognizable song of this movie. something not so controversial is that you can imagine the scenes of the movie that correlate to this song. you can see hiccup trying to steer toothless away from the rocks, you can see them flying up, when the music twinges and changes you hear the despair and you know they're detaching from one another, you can tell when toothless turns his wings into airbrakes to decelerate, you can hear hiccup trying to look at his cheat sheet before saying "fuck it!" and throwing the sheet away, trusting his dragon and flying through the rocks in one of the most memorable scenes in this movie and even throughout the series. i love that you can go without seeing the movie for years, hear one song from it and imagine the whole scene the song takes place in
