This was a great episode. I also have a OTTB, I've had him for four (almost five) years. When I first got him he new absolutely nothing!!! And so did I, I was mostly just guessing. Good to know I did almost everything right. He's now the BEST horse I have EVER ridden. We ride western pleasure, trails, and English hunt seat, jumping. He is now 9 years old. My goal for him this year is teaching him to self load in a trailer and take him off the farm to go on a real trail ride!!!!

You should make a video about a classic format event. Like, how to prepare, how to plan for phases a,b,c,and d in cross country, what to do on roads and tracks etc. I'm doing a novice three day in a few weeks, and I'm super overwhelmed haha.

Try and find someone that would be willing to maybe lease him or free lease him, then you always know what he is doing, where he is etc. I am sure you could find a little kid that could ride him and would love and take care of him. That is what I did with my first pony

I've had my horse for years and now he's getting too old to jump as high as i would like and I'm not sure I will Ever find a horse that fits me as well as he does, so what should I do? should I stop riding or get over everything and get a new horse???

You could keep your 'best friend' and see that he has a nice retirement? How old is he? You could put him on loan to someone else while you work on a new horse, at least you can try to secure his future that way.

40x20m feels like riding in a shoebox? :D That's totally normal in Germany, nearly all shows are in a 40x20m. I think it's totally okay, just jumping in a 40x20 isn't that great :/
