I love how for the last 2 years, Rekordbuddy has said "coming to Windows soon". How about just putting out a statement saying "We will never support Windows because we think "real DJ's" only use Mac". Been wanting to transfer my Serato library (cues and all) to RB with 'Buddy always screaming "coming soon" for nearly 2 years. Maybe they need to research the definition of "soon".

Rekordbuddy is a real pain in the ass. From 1000 tracks, after you migrate from a software to another, 70% have shifted all cue points. If you want to transfer tracks from Rekordbox, or Serator, to Traktor, then you cannot protect your Traktor collection and your entire collection is damaged. I am a Rekordbuddy for 3 years. In all this time they release alot of updates, all full of bugs. If you take a look on their forum you will see that all users have problems with this app. For the services and support that they provide, the app is very expensive. I can recommand to all DJ's, if they want to use a similar app, to search for DJ Conversion Utility. And you guys, from Crossfader, If you are not paid for this "review" then you should try the other app and make a comparation between them.

I have watched the video, and I maybe missing something. Does the software make copies of the files? So mp3's for rekordbox and for serato(what i use)? Thanks for the video, this is something I have been thinking about, because I am a bedroom dj at the moment using Serato and I thought if I was asked to play in a club and it was pioneer cdjs I would not know what to do. Ive never used rekordbox.

As of now Rekord Buddy doesn't copy or move your track files. All the different programs (rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, Engine Prime) are made to use the same files in the same location.

Doesn't work anymore on macOS. Try CrossDJ 4 or CrossDJ 4 Pro (seamless) Doesn't transfer the Names of cue points though.

After installing the 2.0 beta record buddy, I can no longer open the record buddy. Or search, reset your database, or, can't create a local record buddy database. I installed multiple times, deleted registries, exported to my music record box xml file, just always the same message, can't create a local record buddy database. I note that I have a Serato Pro and a record box and until the beta was installed, everything worked perfectly. I'm just not smart anymore what to do. I often see these questions on forums but there are no answers anywhere. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. thank you for your reply.

A question to ask, if you transfered a folder from Traktor to Serato and then a month later you had added something to the original Traktor folder, would it reflect in the 2nd Serato one or do you have to drag and drop the Traktor V2 folder over? Would it duplicate or just add the missing files in the folder to reflect the changes? Would like to know if I change in one, would it auto reflect in the other. Thank you

You would have to replace the old file in Serato with the new one to get any adjustments. They do not sync any changes. Its just a file

i use windows explorer and keep my tracks in order under set files. Whats more explorer comes free with windows so no need to pay for a subscription to use drag and drop. i can use this technique with all dj software and music players and im not limited! also works with photos and videos etc. lol not sure why djs throw all their tunes into 1 folder and then make "play lists" within their chosen software. seems like a dumb way to do stuff. i guess djs who cant be arsed to sort their tunes out natively deserved to be cashcowed :]

That's a great solution for tracks and playlists but it doesn't transfer your beatgrid, cues points and specific metadata like track colors between software. Rekord Buddy does takes care of that.

Are the hot cues accurate or will they need to be to be offset when dealing with compressed audio? A different conversion software will shift all my hot cues off grid. Kind of waste of time converting, if my all my hot cues are 1/16 of a beat forward of the downbeat.

The issue you are describing comes from the encoding of certain MP3 files. I'll be completely transparent and say I still get reports of files that fall thru the cracks with my own checks from time to time. Whenever that happens I ask for a copy of the file and implement a better check for the next release. It's a bit of a wack-a-mole game but we are getting there.

You can also just drag the songs from serato to rekordbox. Select your songs from serato and drag them into a Rekordbox playlist. (It’s possible to select all songs from a playlist at once
