I viewed other videos but still couldn't get my phone to go into file transfer mode. Then this video clued me in to the USB cable itself. I was using a store bought USB cable that could charge, but not transfer data. My OnePlus cable could do it all. Thanks.

Thank you. This is so confusing and way too many steps involved but I think I figured it out. Older phones all you had to do was plug it into your computer and the photos would automatically pop up on the screen. There werent a bunch of confusing steps to follow. I will never remember this all.

Which cable do I need for phone to plug in a laptop please? I have 300 plus photos which I have never been able to transfer from my phone to lap top or anywhere else. Sadly nobody has ever been able to tell me how to move them. The only option is just to keep the phone otherwise all photos lost for good.

I'm having an issue where my phone's screenshots folder is displayed when I browse on PC, but when I open the folder it appears empty, as in it's not displaying any of the files in there. Any suggestions?

The issues I had was setting up the cell phone. How To Tech answered the question "does my USB cord transfer data?". Accessed via the "GEAR" symbol there is a category for "Currently Connected PTP " right away the title is "USB controlled by" use [ this device]. The top two options are which device controls the USB. Well... it will not let you use "connected device " for control of the USB port. The bottom half of the check off list "Use USB for" with empty bullets has "File Transfer" hit that bullet! ((As I already went into the desktop and clicked on the android symbol to search for DCIM, then I tried just dragging the Drive symbol with a bar filled with red over to my external storage device. That did not work. Clicking on the Red Drive symbol na da! No files found. )) With the bullet hit for "file transfer" the Android just took off prepping for download, asking if I wanted to view and organize all 2K pics (not today!) and did I want to put a name to the file.... sure! the DATE! Remember to click the tiny little cube under the "now copying" BAR. It offers to delete pictures after copying them. My phone is just about to lock up for not having ANY MORE storage. To delete later takes time. Agree to the multitasking and do the delete as the copying goes on. How To Tech has some things already set up. So the above description is for virgins or an old schooler like myself with nothing set up and directions have to come from at least two KZbin videos before the brain can kick in. Still .... all my photos did not transfer over. Well... back to perusing the offerings of vids on KZbin.!

Previously I was usinig Redmi 5 Plus with storage of 65GB and all along I had no problem transferring all the WhatsApp's videos and photos to be installed into my computer so that I could create more space for my phone. However, after I had bought a new phone Xiaomi 11 Lite 5GNe with storage of 256 GB, all of a sudden when I wanted to continue transfeering all the videos and photos from my new phone to my computer, I found that it got stucked at a certain date in Jan 2022. It happens whenver I do the transfer whether in Feb, Mar or even June 2022. It stops at the same date. Can you help me out with this problem ?
