USB options NOT showing in android when connected to PC but phone charges

Thanks for helping! I have been trying to transfer photos from my deceased husband's phone to my PC for months, and your video persuaded me to just try a new cable. Embarrassed I didn't think of that before, but I assumed that since the cable worked for charging it was sufficient for other functions. @@Cop_ibm what I just did was bought a BRAND new USB charger and plugged direct to PC USB slot despite I have more than 10 USB charging wires. Make sure the wire should be "data transferable " it cost less than $7

#2, with a clarification: Depending on where they came from, the cables you own might ALL be charge-only cables, or at least not transfer enough data to work properly - it's not that they're worn out or broken, they just never had the capacity to make a decent data transfer, like a pipe that's too narrow. Try a Dedicated Data Transfer Cable, or second best, the thickest cord you have. Plugged into my laptop, my cheap Samsung phone (Luna J3) would do nothing but charge, no matter what sort of usb setting I had on the phone, and my W10 laptop (Asus ZenBook) wouldn't recognize my phone, in fact it wouldn't even acknowledge there was anything plugged into the usb port although the port worked just fine for anything else I plugged in. Over time I tried basically every usb cable I own, at least 15 of the stupid things, no go, I was convinced that wasn't the problem at all. Today I got lazy about going to my office to get my usual cord and found an old dedicated data transfer cable gathering dust in a drawer. (to identify, these are at least twice the thickness of typical cheesy usb to micro usb cables; stiff and annoying to use for charging, they're more typically found connecting high traffic peripherals like a monitor or a printer or external hard drive to a PC). INSTANT SUCCESS!! I have been messing around with this nonsense for nearly FIVE YEARS, trying to get the two devices to speak with each other offline without internet privacy issues or data suck or grindingly slow transfer rates or cloud overloads; upgrades and downloads and installs and reinstalls and tech gibberish and nasty strange programs I don't trust that have done all sorts of nefarious things to my phone, and even a factory reset. By now I think I know more about my phone and pc OS than Asus and Samsung. #$%^&*!!! Hard to swallow, it was just a freakin' cord all this time. May I add, thank you SO much to the creator of this youtube for whatever voice program you used here. You sound slightly like Stephen Hawking, 🤓 but hallelujah, whoever you are, wherever you're from, I can actually understand what you're saying perfectly.

Sorry brother, Pls try different pc, mobile and cable combination to narrow down the issue. Still does not work, mostly it is hardware limitation which we can not fix, such as CABLE MANUFACTURED ONLY FOR CHARGING, not for data transfer. Good luck, and please like and subscribe to my channel.

idk if you will see this but I took my phone to get fixed and when i got it back the USB options stopped showing up (they did before i took it to get fixed) , i tried all the things in the video but nothing works. it's not a USB cable problem because i tried using the same cable that didn't work with a different device and it worked, so it has to be my phone. Dude - Hope your phone is not in charge only mode, pls check the video once. Its all about leads/wires making contact to one another, in one phone it is properly placed in another phone it may not. But another cable may be capable to establish that contact.

Plug the external hard drive into on SS USB port on the docking station. 3. Manually scan folders in Card - DCIM/Camera - Download - Movies - Pictures 4. Manually scan folders in Phone - DCIM/Camera - Download - Movies - Pictures Tips that worked for me: - Try different ports - Try different cables

But at this particular time, by any chance, since you mentioned technically help, sort of connected to this, would you have any idea why my phone only seems to charge properly with one particular charging brick (the OG one I got in the box) and one particular cable (some random one I got later on)? Only then do I get 2+ hours of charging time, while with all the others I get 6+, even 8 hours. I once got another cable to work with the OG brick for a bit, but after that it went back to the slower charging. Turning on fast charging with the other cables and charging bricks also does nothing and only works on that one combo. Wireless charging seems to work fine too, although it does heat up the phone, but then again, it always did that. Charging also works fine on my charging bank. At first I thought there was something wrong with the connector, but now I think these cables and bricks are the reason why, but I thought I'd ask someone who knows more about this stuff than me.

All of the solutions in this are so simple that they almost sound lazy, they're also things that should be tried first, but often neglect. My problem was simply the USB cord. When this was suggested, I thought "pffft... It can't be that." Sure enough, a cable that works for everything else just didn't seem to work for my phone. I changed the cord and it connected just fine.

Yes, Iast thing I checked was the device mgr, seen the yellow mark for usb driver, removed it then downloaded the universal driver and it works now. Thanks

Problem *SOLVED* I was using a store-bought USB TYPE C to save the one that came with my device, but when I broke down and cracked open the box with the original TYPE C USB, I plugged it in and it works! Praiseitem!👍😎

I tried unplug, replug multiple times it did not work and I am going trying let some one else use my charger to see if it is the charger and try a different cord for my phone as well.

Still does not work, mostly it is hardware limitation which we can not fix, such as CABLE MANUFACTURED ONLY FOR CHARGING, not for data transfer. I have tried all of the methods shown in this video and I still can't get the PC to recognise my Samsung device. I bought a different cable, tried all of the different USB sockets on my laptop, went through the debug mode I development options, and the Universal Serial Bus controllers are all fine with no warning sign next to any of the icons. Please would anyone be able to offer any other solutions, or is it now a case of paying an IT specialist to look into it?
