#2, with a clarification: Depending on where they came from, the cables you own might ALL be charge-only cables, or at least not transfer enough data to work properly - it's not that they're worn out or broken, they just never had the capacity to make a decent data transfer, like a pipe that's too narrow. Try a Dedicated Data Transfer Cable, or second best, the thickest cord you have. Plugged into my laptop, my cheap Samsung phone (Luna J3) would do nothing but charge, no matter what sort of usb setting I had on the phone, and my W10 laptop (Asus ZenBook) wouldn't recognize my phone, in fact it wouldn't even acknowledge there was anything plugged into the usb port although the port worked just fine for anything else I plugged in. Over time I tried basically every usb cable I own, at least 15 of the stupid things, no go, I was convinced that wasn't the problem at all. Today I got lazy about going to my office to get my usual cord and found an old dedicated data transfer cable gathering dust in a drawer. (to identify, these are at least twice the thickness of typical cheesy usb to micro usb cables; stiff and annoying to use for charging, they're more typically found connecting high traffic peripherals like a monitor or a printer or external hard drive to a PC). INSTANT SUCCESS!! I have been messing around with this nonsense for nearly FIVE YEARS, trying to get the two devices to speak with each other offline without internet privacy issues or data suck or grindingly slow transfer rates or cloud overloads; upgrades and downloads and installs and reinstalls and tech gibberish and nasty strange programs I don't trust that have done all sorts of nefarious things to my phone, and even a factory reset. By now I think I know more about my phone and pc OS than Asus and Samsung. #$%^&*!!! Hard to swallow, it was just a freakin' cord all this time. May I add, thank you SO much to the creator of this youtube for whatever voice program you used here. You sound slightly like Stephen Hawking, 🤓 but hallelujah, whoever you are, wherever you're from, I can actually understand what you're saying perfectly.

Same issues on my end. My note 10+ would connect to my older Acer Aspire. It broke, so I decided I'd use my brother's Acer Aspire that's brand new and a hell of a lot more recent...but still does not connect to it. idk if you will see this but I took my phone to get fixed and when i got it back the USB options stopped showing up (they did before i took it to get fixed) , i tried all the things in the video but nothing works. it's not a USB cable problem because i tried using the same cable that didn't work with a different device and it worked, so it has to be my phone. I looked on device manager and on other devices my phone doesn't even show up, i installed the driver and still nothing changed. If you have any idea on what i can do to fix it i'd rly appreciate it

Dude - Hope your phone is not in charge only mode, pls check the video once. Its all about leads/wires making contact to one another, in one phone it is properly placed in another phone it may not. But another cable may be capable to establish that contact.

Unfortunately, none of this works for me after connecting the Samsung Note 10 Lite. When I connect the cable to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and no problem, the computer detects the phone immediately. So it can't be a problem with either the cable or the computer. I have "USB Debbuging" and "Default USB Configuration" enabled on "File transfer".

All of the solutions in this are so simple that they almost sound lazy, they're also things that should be tried first, but often neglect. My problem was simply the USB cord. When this was suggested, I thought "pffft... It can't be that." Sure enough, a cable that works for everything else just didn't seem to work for my phone. I changed the cord and it connected just fine.

Hey friend, Find which one is the problem 1)cable 2)phone 3)PC. If it is software or settings issue you can fix it with this video, but some times it could be irreparable hardware issue also. So first find which of the above 3 is the problem then find if it is software or hardware issue.

Change cable - Very well done Change pc - ? Change phone - ? In this way once you narrow down the cause...You can further narrow down, for example in step 1 if you found the problem is with phone because with same Cable PC another phone works as expected. Then try to narrow down further: Hardware issue (ex: damaged phone port) Software issue (ex: settings)

So as someone who uploads 4k Drone videos and 4k videos in general... for a while I thought my laptop was just getting old. Truth be told it was the cable. Down to uploading some more 4K videos now that this video helped me solve that problem!

Still does not work, mostly it is hardware limitation which we can not fix, such as CABLE MANUFACTURED ONLY FOR CHARGING, not for data transfer. Or the data wire in the cable is recently damaged. Google Pixel 2 - no notification about USB connection, Windows missing notofication about new device, nothing. Tried new cable USB 3.2 gen 1 also doesn't help. Phone only charging when connected to the PC.

None of them worked😂 for me the cable was working absolutely fine for me but not working now tried on pc and laptop even i used other cable

Its all about 2 terminals making right contact, over the time some combinations may not make right contact, so pls try alternate cable.

It's so annoying that I can't see a simple "usb options" anywhere in android (9 I'm using). I could hear the phone dink and see a USB icon at the top but no "notification" to change the mode would appear. There is no actual SETTING for it so my pc could see the phone was plugged in but had nothing on the phone as no mode set to use. Ended up restarting the phone .. and trying the first cable I used that I know is good .. and finally the notification appeared, selected file mode, and I'm done. Doing anything like this always stresses me as it always seems to want to mess me about and waste my time! Another 15+ minutes burned..

Sorry about it, Try to zero out the causes...See if this cable works fine for the same phone on any other PC, your laptop, your friends PC. Issue could be with: Cable (hardware) Phone (hardware/software) PC (hardware/software) ###Software could be driver, settings etc...### Try to eliminate and one by one...
