Tip: With singleplayer I use the "admincheat saveworld" command right after taking things out of the obelisk because if the game happens to crash after you do but it hasn't saved yet on it's own, anything you've removed from the ob (items, tames) will be gone forever. Learned that the hard way asdkjdfs.

I recovered a beloved argy and my gear lost to this glitch on PS4 by backing up my current save, downloading an old save with stuff/dino still on it, uploading it all to the obelisk, and then restoring the current save. The glitch happens because the obelisk data is stored separately from the map for some reason - but that can be used to undo the damage.

A few tips for single player item downloading. I don't know if it is just me and my brother that have this happen, but when you return to a transmitter to collect your items and notice they are all gone, don't panic, simply put anything in there, even a random piece of fiber off the ground, any item will do, once you put it in there, your items will load in. Also, never exit the transmitter when it says the maximum amount of items have been uploaded, because you might lose those items forever. Not because they were deleted, bu because you can't access them with the before mentioned having to put another item in. I just lost a ton of amazing loot and resources because of this. Also, you can use loot crates to transfer on servers but not on single player. So, if you are transferring off or onto aberration, you are kind out of luck because you have to use the obilisks which are on the surface. Trust me, I know your pain if you are dealing with this. Sorry this text was kind of long, I wanted to put all the tips I knew.

@Logi D You can transfer all of that stuff. However, if you transfer the tek armor, you won't be able to use it's abilities until you unlock the engrams, and you'll need element to operate it

When downloading creatures on single player be sure there’s enough space for the creature to spawn. If another tame is overlapping the spawn point the game will crash. Any items uploaded will be erased from existence and any creatures uploaded will go the way of the dodo. Just make sure to move creatures out of the circle when downloading multiple tames.

the best way to transfer creatures from server to another by using crypods it makes easier to transfer creatures and you don’t have to wait all time for transferring just join to any server or map then collect it from the ob that you used for that purpose

a few things, You can't switch between PvE and PvP on official servers, On certain unofficial servers sometimes the option to transfer items to single player is allowed which also allows for a little trolling, also theres a strat with the transmitter where you keep good tames in them and take them out and put them back in every 23 hours so they dont die. also you forgot about Tek Transmitters

ok, there are a few tips from what i have learned in official pve, there is a server save every 15 minutes, is in every save when you can transfer if you grab any item you want to upload before the last save, otherwise you must wait the countdown is over to transfer, this also helps to organize your transfers grabbing all you need prior the next save, but we recommend wait few more minutes after the save to prevent a loss since even if is every 15 minutes the save, not all servers do it in the exact same time, and if the server you are traveling crashed in the save, you may end up losing your character after the transfer. Also you can transfer everything you have in your inventory (some exceptions like bee hives or tributes cannot be transferred), but most items can be transferred if you have them in your inventory, this helps if you fill your ark data tab. Food can only be moved once, in fact, most spoilable items can be only transferred once, or at least until last update from this time jun 10 2021, if you transfer by example a fertilized egg, this cannot be transferred again, once you got the time ready for transfer, this item will reset its timer so you wont be able to transfer it. A last tip is the lack of upload survivor button in official servers, some players cannot see the entire list of official servers, but if you can confirm the server you want is in the same cluster, you can add it to favorites from steam. Next you transfer to another server, can be any but remember you need to have that map, once in the spawn menu press esc and return to main menu, then go to favorites and join the server you want, once in the server you will see the character creation menu, go to download character, and if this is in the same cluster, you will see the character you uploaded, then just select it and download, you can now spawn in this map, this works like the upload survivor feature in single player. Hope this helps some players out there.

let me add one more I just remember, the ark data in official is attached to the account, not to the character, so if you want to move only items from one server to another, you can have multiples characters, create one by server you play on, if one uploads something, another character in a different server can download it, this helps to do not lose characters if the only thing you want is transfer items. Again, this only works in same cluster servers.

@@DD-OO you can only have one character per server, if you transfer acharacter to a server that already have one you receive a confirmation, if accept, you override that pj, you can see the old pj there but not being able to usr it anymore If you do not accept your transfered character stays in the cloud and you have 24 hours to download it To download you must go to a server where you do t have chatacters

@@DD-OO to solve all this, i upload a character first transfering to anoter map, but not spawn, in the map for apawn y press esc and them exit to main menu, this makes your pj to the cloud, thwn transfer the one i need, do my things, pj return home and after that, log in in the map again but this time downloading the pj that were on cloud, if you have a pj in cloud, every time you enter a map you will be asked which obe download

I'm not sure if there are quite as many issues on servers, but be aware this process is *very* glitchy, at least for me. On singleplayer always remember to take out any creatures before you take out your items, for whatever reason if you take an item out of the obelisk and then take out a creature the game will crash, this will reset the world back to a point before you opened the teminal, but it won't save the items you took out, I've lost far more saddles than I'd care to admit. The same goes if your world crashes before it gets a chance to save, except you can also lose creatures this way. Finally, I'm not sure exactly what causes this, but I've seen creatures just get straight up deleted for no reason, it usually happens on your first transfer, so make sure to bring a dummy creature just in case if you're worried, I guess whatever angry god is responsible for transfers takes a creature as payment every once in a while. I lost a horse on rag, but my brother lost an event managarmr trying to take it off map, scary stuff

Hmm. I play singleplayer and have 4 maps - The Island, Ragnarok, Crystal Island and Lost Island. I'm using a different character for all these 4 maps. Will it be possible for the character on Island to upload gear/dinos to the one on Ragnarok for example? I assume that if I transfer the character itself, I'll get issues with the Tribe mechanism?

To reiterate what a few have said in comments. You can transfer dinos in cryos in your inventory on pc without issue. You can also transfer artifacts, but not tribute items, element or element shards. I've done this countless times and have had no issues. This also saves you a trip to an obelisk once on the intended map.

have not transfer to a new map yet, but in abberation i approached a loot crate underground to look into your advice.. i take it those are not transmitters? nothin listed except inventory. also charge stations i learn do nothin. are the transmitters on the surface the only option? also just subscribed, i enjoy your content. has been eye openin as to how long i have been playin the tough way.

If you're on single player I don't think loot drops work as transmitters. I'm not sure if there's a setting for it or not, but the obelisks on the surface will definitely let you transfer. Also charge nodes charge your light pet, batteries, and can craft element. I should do a video on em 🤔

Heyo ptera, so I've tried doing this before in between 2 private servers of mine, and i managed to move my character, while the items and dinos were left on the old server, do the servers need to be in some way connected for it to work , like a cluster as you mentioned or? Not entirely sure how that works.
