It can take weeks, i believe for me it took if i could remember about 2 to 3 weeks maybe a month, but it really just depends per your situation.

Hello, great question from my research and understanding. If you're moving to another state you will have to either apply for reciprocity or an endorsement whichever the state your wanting to move to requires. I'm assuming yes you could have a license in two states as long as your meeting the renewal fees and requirements to stay active in both states. But again, I would check with your Cosmetology Department of State. Hopefully this somewhat helps. Again, great question.

It really just depends i know from NE to GA it took about 2 weeks and I called because i did not receive a letter from the new state GA. But my original state NE sent a letter saying what they sent over my grades and transcript to the board of cosmetology in GA. I would just stay in contact with both states to get your questions answered. Hopefully this helps.

I would take a look at this page to get more info on what you need to do sos.ga.gov/licensing-division-georgia-secretary-states-office, but also check with Tennessee website as well.

I’m trying to get my license in a state which requires 300 hours. After that I am moving to Alaska but the state requirements are 350 hours to get your license. Would my license transfer or would I have to do additional training?

It depends. Some states allow you to transfer over your license if you have been working as as an esthetician for at least a year, but if you just get your license and then decide to move you may need additional training hours. I would reach out to the cosmetology board in Alaska to make sure.
