As a momma of grown the best advice I can give is to have the older sibling involved. Nap time have him sing to baby or pat baby. Also be flexible. Don't be set on nap time has to be in a crib or at a set time. With anything in a kids life they are going to feed off of you. Make it a happy special time. Make them your sidekick

Hi. Nice to see again. I have only one child but a big lesson i have learned...kids like routine. If you have them in it stick to it and everyone is happy❤

You are so right about excepting help. When I had my 3rd baby I was 34. My kids ages were 7 1/2 and one month shy of 3. I always wanted 3 so I gave birth on Thursday , had a tumble on Saturday morning and came home that night. My Mom and sisters took care of the boys while I was in the hospital. Well, I had complications from my surgery. My intestines had shut down which put me back in the hospital Sunday night. It was miserable . They had to put a tube in my nose down my throat to pump my stomach ,and that stayed there until Tuesday afternoon. I came home on Wednesday. It was an experience to say the least. I knew my kids were in good hands. My Mom had 5 kids . She let the baby sleep in the bassinet in the living room . The house was noisy and that baby could sleep through anything. My mom and sisters were always there to help out. It's so comforting to know you have help. Oh, when I came home the 2nd time my middle son did not want anything to do with me. I think it took him awhile to realize I wasn't going away again. Sending my love as always.❤

I’m so glad you posted this! I can relate so much❤️ our babies are 11 months apart😬 so it was kinda like having two babies at first. But now my youngest is 8 months and my toddler is starting to get used to her and play with her and it’s the sweetest! Nap time is still a struggle sometimes🤪 but we are making it work Lol.

Hi Valerie, I hope you had a blessed Christmas. I am pregnant with our first baby around three months on the way now. From 0 to 1 might be a big adjustment as well 😉 very informative video. Wish you and your family all the best and Gods blessings for the New Year!

Congratulations! I would say it was easier for me to go from 0 to 1! I’m sure it’s different for everybody but both adjustments are hard and good in their own way 🥰

What is the age gap between your kids again? Firstborns are always the toughest since we all adjust to being a parent and adjust to our babies, just as they have to adjust to sharing your attention with another. I appreciate your honesty of how you felt at that transition. I really struggled hard with my firstborn for several years. He has always been an incredible happy boy, but his tantrums were never fun. Thankfully he outgrew it (and looks back at it as a teen and tells me he is sorry which is silly, and I tell him that - since he was learning and growing). My second was easier for most everything, honestly, but it is because I knew better what to do. My first adjusted and loved having a brother and so that worked out well. He was always a little more independent while my second is more attached. My transition to a third has been easy for my older two, but that's because they always wanted a young sibling, and they are both teenagers. I think the biggest thing to do when transitioning to a second, is to include the older one in things you do. You are on the bed with the newborn, let the older one see the joy and talk to them about how they are also a joy and show both love. I think that doing that to my first helped him have no issues (but they are 22 months apart and every memory my oldest has includes his younger brother who is his best friend). I used to put both my older two down for naps at the same time and put a gate on their room. I then worked out and relaxed reading a book or writing a letter during that time. They both used to nap for 2-4 hours together! When they outgrew naps, I made that same time their play time together, but would check up on them all the time (and I have a tiny place so I can hear everything). I learned the nap thing from my mom because I remember my nap times! She would put a blanket down on the floor for me to sit on or sleep on while putting a movie on for me. She'd take a nap while I watched the movie. She had me nap in my bedroom until I was 5 (I am the youngest in my family). You had great advice and I loved listening to a younger mom's experiences.

So when we had our second baby the transition was very hard. The poor toddler had so many tantrums it wasn’t even funny anymore. She was used to be the only kid at both grandparents, and mommy and daddy so yeah, it wasn’t easy. But we just had our third and it has been so easy, the toddlers have each other and aren’t as lonely. Maybe we just got lucky now, but I’ve heard from multiple people that going to three kids is much better than going to two.
