How To Transplant Tomatoes (The Right Way!)

I have success making a trench and laying a tall plant in a trench turning the top two sets of leaves above soil and staking. This provides lots of roots and strong plants.

I just planted 2 tomato plants, a Big Boy and a Supersteak. I just noticed the Big Boy is turning yellow while the Supersteak is still nice and green. I tilled the garden area the best I could with the little tiller I have and tilled in some top soil to rejuvenate the garden bed. After doing so, I watered the empty garden bed with half strength miracle gro, then planted in the evening as the sun was setting. I did get my seedlings from a store that kept them in a greenhouse. Did I do something wrong when planting?

Sometimes, after I fill the larger pots, I take aa Screwdriver, flipped upside down, hold the steel, and use the larger handle to make the hole. (Handle is usually about the size of the plug!!!) Since I have about 200 tomato seedlings, I figure ANY chance to pick a few moments for EACH seedling helps. ( In this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ24c2l8a7xnZ5Y )

After I transplant my peppers and tomatoes (in grow bags), they turn yellow. I put in potting spoil, compost and tomato fertilizer. Ive yried not to over water and tried different soil. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm in 8b Texas.

Did you harden your plants off? A week before transplanting outside, you should put them outside for a few hours to get used to the Sun.

I am learning this year that its important to not add 100 percent miracle grow when transplanting the tomatoes. Two issues im seeing was they grew too fast amd some of the bottom leaves touched the soil and almost immediately died. luckily tomatoes are pretty resilient when it comes to removing some of the leaves.
