Thank you, is it necessary to book a kooli to send your cycle or you can do it yourself? Also if someone is mailing a cycle (as it is) as parcel from nizamuddin to Nagpur junction can someone else collect it, or you need to produce the original slip (or receipt) or it's photography or photocopy will be suffice?

Kooli not required to send your cycle. If you are sending cycle to some one else you should mention his name as receiver. And the original slip should be available at the receiving end. Xerox will not be acceptable. One jugad to do that is place the slip on the top tube of your cycle frame wrap a news paper over it then wrap a packing tape over newspaper. And inform the receiver about the location of the slip. The risk is that if someone else take the original slip then it will be a great task to recover your cycle from Indian railways.

In almost all stations porters do that job.. if u can better carry a gunny bag with u and do it yourself. If u do it yourself then also they will ask for some tips.

@@human7325 packing is up to how expensive your bike is and how rush the laggage compartment will be. Both thing maters.I have trasnported gear bike from Bangalore to kerala but nothing happened. If you care much your bike then pack it in bike carboard package. Please enquire at railway station porters and all about the usuall laggage movement in your tarin and take decision.

If the train is having lagage compartment then the procedure is same. Some small station don't have lagage facilities like kalady station at kerala. So make sure of it. In some local train we can board cycle along with us in traveling compartment
