Sometimes I put them under the seat in front of me, sometimes in the overhead, but it's good to have them separate because sometimes on crowded flights they say everyone has to check their bags because there's no more room. Then I can check my backpack and keep the skates as my personal item under the seat. Also one more thing @ricardo lino - I really like using a "climbing quickdraw" with two carabiners to carry the skates! You should check that out, it's sooooo nice, and if you have the large roller bag it lets you hook the skates over the handle too

Great video, some Airplane companies may consider that the Aluminum Frame could be used as a blade, so sometimes I had to disassemble my skates and put the frames in the suitcases.

Just recently I traveled for the first time with my skates! I had them in my carry-on bag, and like you had no issues!... I didn't put them on and skate around the airport!.... I should've! Thanks for the video!

About 25 years ago Jansport made an awesome in-line skate bag called the Blade Slinger. It was a regular backpack with a flap and clips/straps to strap your skates to the outside (wheels in and cuffs out). I loved it.

Great video ;-).... I have flew several times with my skates either inside the carry on or on my hand and never had an issue except my first time where a security lady asked me to check in the skates. I think though, it was just bad luck since after 10 minutes some friends passed from the same security check without any problem (I do not know, maybe she didn't like my face). I am even carrying the axles key with me (which in principle could be considered as a sharp item), and never anyone told me anything. I have also skated inside an airport, lot's of fun ;-).

Hi there Ricardo! Thanks for your videos, they helped me a lot to improve myself as a skater so I having more fun in life. 2k23 summer I gone to euro trip with my razors sl and oysi classic and I watched your previous video about traveling with airplane and actually I had a problem in airport you havent told than and now. I want to share it with all you just to know about. I took my babies and stock tool for them in hand luggage and airport security stopped me and told that want to arrest me as I'm carrying potential wearpon on bord. That happened in Turkia, Italy, Estonia. After all I explained them what it's for, but mess happened. So guys, be aware of it, enjoy your trips and be safe!

I have fair bit of experience traveling with skates, but never tried to take them like you. My way is to put them in the backpack, removing frames I fill inside of skates with socks and underwear lol. I fit in free cabin bag. Ofcourse your way is much better. Anyway one bad story from Mexico city airport - they took my frames and acted like it can be used as a gun… very absurd and it’s only one time I had this experience. P.s. Traveling with skates is best what we can do, it’s ultimate experience. Dream life.

Nice one Ricardo 👌. You make it look so easy and stress free. Off to Barcelona in March and so want to take my skates with me like you did. not sure if EasyJet/ Ryanair are so relaxed. Thanks also for the fastening to the sides of the backpack tip👌👍. Hope you had a good flight

Back from Barcelona, I chickened out in the end and I put the skates in a Muji Cabin bag and took on board no problem. Jet2 going and Ryanair coming back. Barcelona is a Rollerblading paradise ❤️ 👌👌 I only managed a couple of days due to limited time but can’t wait to go back.

Ela vem de Portugal para o Brasil final de março (mês que vem), apenas com bagagens de mão (acho que até 10 kg ). Alem do patins, também vai trazer a chave allen (chave de manutenção do patins). Espero que ela consiga embarcar no avião sem problemas. O patins USD AEON 72 em Portugal saiu por 210 € , enquanto para importar até o Brasil custaria 740 € (com todas as taxas) . I have thought about taking my skates to Mexico from the USA but I haven't done so yet. When I go on vacation for a week it's the longest period I have away from skating.

As a Mexican ive had issues in the past with my skates as carry-on luggage on national airports, but never had any troubles in USA or Canada. Just take that in mind bro :D

I’ve heard of multiple people having their skates taken in Mexico after trying to bring them as a carry on. If you bring them, put them in your checked luggage. Also, the Mexican military has recently taken full control of customs and may more strictly enforce taxes and fines on certain items you bring into the country.

In 2019 y vistited Mexico and brought my skates with me, going into the country I had no issues at all, but when I was leaving the airport I almost lost my flight because they wanted for me to leave my skates behind, but I managed to bring them back with me. So my suggestion is to put your skates inside your luggage when ever your flying out of Mexico, it’ll save you a bad time at the airport.

I have high end roller skates. Whenever I fly, I always keep them on me. I have an Ogio backpack that they can fit. They are a bit wider at the base with the wheels. But are shorter than your inlines. The boot (shoe) only goes up to the bottom of the ankle. It's primarily to safeguard in case the luggage goes missing. Especially when the skates are customized. Or fit your feet perfectly. Or have anything special about them that would make it a pain to replace them.

Yeah, wouldn't put high end skates in my luggage either, too affraid they would get stolen. I wonder how many people working at an airport would realise they cost that much though. But I always bring a pair of old cheaper ones with me since I already have a full carry-on with stuff I don't want to get stolen. Maybe I'm just too paranoid 🤷‍♂️

Havent watch the video yet but the title remembered me when i was going on a skatetrip with friends from sthlm to barcelona, i didnt bring shoes only skates and skated around in the taxfre area and boarded the plane and sat in the seat with skates 😅😅😅

I love my Flying Eagle backpack for traveling with my skates, i always carry them in the cabin and haven't had an issue yet (knock on wood) Going to Barcelona with my daughter in May to skate and i'm really tempted to try skating to through the airport 🙈😆

bring them..its extremely easy..secutiry nowadays tream them as normal shoes or any other toy.. :)

@@RicardoLino yeah, the only trouble i have had was when i brought both skates and protective gear as carry on, they said that the helmet made it too bulky, so now i just put the protective gear in the checked in luggage. It's not too bad if i lose my helmet i can always buy a new one when i arrive, getting new skates is a way bigger problem, even in Barcelona

Recently i tried to take my skates from a flight with airfrance nantes-riga and they made me buy an extra luggage just for my skates because they said that its prohibited as a carry on so if someone is flying with airfrance be carefull

do aluminum frames go past security? they are big/heavy enough to be considered a "weapon" so I avoid the risk and check the fames with my bag instead

no problem at all..i ussually carry a big wheel frame setup and or aggressive skates woith me.....and never had probelms..even with the aluminum frames being solo without any wheels or boot....and they even allow me to carry the skate tool on the backpack which for me could be more of a "gun" and they dont say anything... treat them as a normal shoe or toy and you are good to go :)

Take the frames off at the gate and wear the boots onto the plane and then switch to your shoes once on the plane lol

i know right..honestly its very easy. but people tend to complicate things in their head... if we tream them as a normal shoe NOTHING will happen.... if for some very odd reason they complain you take the frame and walk them boots.....LOL...easy ;)
