It was great watching your videos! We are now preparing for Oman in March. Could you show me an exact place where you camped in the Jebel Shams mountains? Can a plain non-all-wheel drive car get up there? At Wadi shab, where were you able to leave the photographic equipment before the water part? Thank you in advance for the answer!
@THATGREEKGUY_6 ай бұрын
Thank you. It was more or less on this point that we turned from the dirtroad towards the cliff. maps.app.goo.gl/We17yMowZvryz8jV9 We didn't have 4x4 but there were some flats rocks that i could drive to get closer to the cliff. If you get there, i'm sure you will find it. At Wadi Shab, i didn't have the camera with me. Only gopro which we had all the time with us. We left clothes and food next to one of the rocks. i think we left camera in the car, mostly to avoid getting it wet and not because i was afraid someone might take it.

Thank you! I'm already googling pictures to spot it. :D
@humaidr Жыл бұрын
Auwal is the dried shark. However, the dish is called Maleh which means salty. Some might call it Masoorat Maleh. It can be made from dried shark or tuna. If you are into sour food, then you might like it.
@THATGREEKGUY_ Жыл бұрын
@@humaidr thank you for the clarification! To be honest i can't remember any specific taste. 😕
@humaidr Жыл бұрын
@@THATGREEKGUY_ Well, I understand, and that maybe because the full dish isn't complete. It's not a soup that you have it separately. It goes with white rice. This isn't a usual dish that we have it in daily basis. When we crave it, we go for it. Myself I prefer it this way, white rice with some ghee on top of it, then adding the Maleh to it. As I said earlier, it has a lot of sourness. In general here in Oman we like our food to be sour and spicy to get that kick.
@THATGREEKGUY_ Жыл бұрын
@@humaidr the way you describe it, sounds much more appealing. :) Hopefully will get the chance to try it properly next time we visit. Thank you for your feedback! All the best from Greece.

Just general advice to those who are planing to visit Oman, I would say ideal time to visit from mid november to mid february. 1 month before 1 month after is okey. Other than that summer heat is not pleasent, unless you plan to visit Salalah ( from end of July to mid september).
