Aly, I feel there is one topic you should discuss. Health abroad. I recently went to the Wacken festival in Germany and, long story short, was kicked twice whilst down in a mosh pit and broke 4 ribs. I was taken to hospital as I started spitting up blood and kept in overnight. Luckily, I had the European Health Insurance Card. Without it, it be facing a bill of thousands. So, insure yourselves guys.

You realise that she's only making this video to get commission from the affiliate links posted below the video, for when people like you click it thinking you're getting a good deal. You really think Agoda and Airbnb are a way to travel on a super tight budget? .....hmm. The best way to travel on a super tight budget is going to super tight countries where your money goes a long way, generally third world countries, where Hostelworld, Agoda, and so on, don't even exist

As far as I'm aware (definitely if you do the same trip a lot) you should always use skyscanner et al in private/incognito mode on your browser because cookies can apparently make flights, trains, etc more expensive on your computer! I have definitely heard something like that so I always make sure to do that, doesnt take any longer so why not :)

Also, great tip on the taxi! My boyfriend and I actually did haggle for a taxi in Marrakesh, but we lucked out with an amazing driver who took us around all of Marrakesh to show us the sights and get us from Jardin Majorelle, to many different beautiful locations, all the way through the maze to our Riad (cheap airbnb) for €5 total. He was so incredibly kind, but again, I don't think everyone would be as lucky as us with this.

Lots of good tips! Can't agree more with 'Travel Slow'. I just got back from a month in Europe- I cut my list of sights in half because I was spending so much time switching hostels, on trains, trams etc. Spending a day or two doing the touristy stuff at first, then getting out and into your host country to see and meet real people is so much more enjoyable than hopping around like a maniac.

The warm personality you carry in your videos is so reassuring. Me and my girlfriend are going to Thailand for 3 weeks in November and then doing Southeast Asia next summer for 2 months with a bunch of friends. So happy I subscribed to your page, it's given me and friends such a huge boost of confidence and you seem to talk to us like you've known everyone for years. Keep doing what you're doing cause it's working and thanks again for all the work you've been doing. Peace and love.

I'm 16 and I wanna start travelling so much!! not because the fact that they are less expensive but I'm so interested in the cheapest ways of travelling they sound so much more fun to me :) this summer I'll go camping for the first time to a small festival with some friends (who went to the same festival last year) I would like to go camping (how do I say this in English haha) without the festival part, you know, just camping but my friends don't seem that much interested but well we'll see :) just wanna pack some stuff and see the world, and, as Im a huge fan of nature eco travelling sounds pretty sweet too. anyway thank you for the video :D

The one thing I would add is in Chile there are smaller black taxis that are called "Collectivos" are they never function with a meter, they have set prices from 1 location to another. They are a smaller and cheaper version of taxis.

hey! thank you so much for your videos! I traveled to India last year by myself to teach English at a school and I was super nervous because it was my first time going anywhere. but I watched your videos and they helped me so much! so thank you! you gave me confidence to step way out of my comfort zone and it was the best experience of my life so far. And now, since then, I've traveled to Nepal to attend a friend's wedding (who I met while I was in india) had a lay over in Shanghai where I found the courage to venture out to the city (which was super awesome even though I got lost on the metro system and had to pay a taxi to find my way back to the airport - but it was so much fun! because it was an adventure!) and now I'm getting ready to head out on a mini trip to Nicaragua next month;D so excited! I really can't thank you enough. You're awesome:) wishing u safe travels -rach:)

Use skyscanner, Kiwi, etc. and use the "everywhere" destination - see which places are a cheap connection for both your origin AND destination. Some cities/airports are particularly cheaper too - Oslo, Baltimore, cologne (koln), cancun to name a few.

Yes! 100% recommend a travel money card. At least with my bank (Commonwealth in Australia) it’s free to get one (as far as I remember), you can top it up via the app (and subsequently be able to check how much you have left) and there’s a very minimal withdrawal fee (like $2-ish). Also, great video! 😊

In Christchurch, a metro card for the buses is $10, and you have to top up $10 when u buy to activate, so $20 total, all for a 75c reduction on fairs. Worth it?? Only if ur here long term.

To avoid ATM and bank fees, I use a travel credit card that automatically refunds any and all fees I get when using ATMs. And using the card outside the country is free. I do pay a yearly fee of $50, but this is minimal compared to the savings.

Someone to travel with! Granted if you can find someone who you travel well with... In my case, I can tend to be a bit of a hermit when alone, with no sense of direction, so going with someone helps me to make the most of my trip, and I don't get lost :) also, sharing accommodation can make travelling more affordable, and meeting new people much easier. Also, tesco sandwiches saved my budget when in London, England.
