I think hydra is in every tank you just have to provide the right environment for them to thrive. I HATE hyrda, I always get it in my fry grow-out tanks because I feed heavy baby brine shrimp. Great video!!!

Oh absolutely, I used to freak out all the time. Then I realized it’s really not that big of a deal. Plus these creatures are ancient! It’s super cool. I wish I can regenerate and make more of me on the daily lollllll my gf begs to differ though 😂😂😂

I honestly never have seen hydra in any of my tanks ever. But, should I notice them one day I know what to do.

What about assassin snail? Is it safe for them? Also I gave shrimps
@TankTastic2 жыл бұрын
I would be careful of more expensive snails and take them out just in case

I have a shallow tank with fish and shrimp, feeding my small corydoras fry made me get hydra and i lost most of my fry but one due to them since i didnt know about hydra a few months ago. I stopped feeding baby brine and first scraped my glass...ofc that didnt help at all lol. feeding less didnt affect the green hydra much as i also read only helps with the white version. what i did...and its time consuming yes...but decimated the hydra to just a few only with using a small tubing...like the ones you use for the air pump and sucking them out from the tank into a bucket from the glass. they are hard to see sometimes so it will take you some time...and you have to repeat it quite often but you will end up with near no hydras besides some on the plants. I havent decided what to do with the few left now...throw the plants away...as trying to suck them from the leafs is quite hard compared to the hard glass where you can rub your tubing on to remove them. But just one idea to do it without any medication and it seems to work a great deal for me so far.

You can def get some mollies, blue gourami to prey on the hydras if you dont like the chemical route. The thing with sucking them out and leaving a few in is, they will procreate pretty fast. And once their food source becomes available, they will procreate even faster. So whatever is left in the tank, get them out asap!

@@TankTastic yeah i read about it...i think it was on another channel that is called **** co-op ;) dont want to advertise hehe...though in my case as i keep mainly nano fish and shrimps i cant keep any of those without them eating my shrimp or corydoras fry thats why i tried a different way

Hi, would you know if this is safe to use in my crayfish tank? Im considering going to the shop and getting like 3 snails for my 20 gal to kill these things. I have 3 week old cherry shrimp and im worried they will all be killed by the hydra. But if this method will work im doing it. Thanks
