Hi I'm in manchester England is there a particular water temperature you should not use the potassium permanganate to carry out the bath or dip as one of my koi has an ulcer on its side. The ulcer is very recent so no open wound .The water temp is 8.5 degrees and fairly stable for the next week or so. Would it be ok for me to Carrie out bath. Do you mix a fresh pp bath each time you carry out a bath Kind regards Tom

I dipped my ulcerated koi for 5mins in 100ppm PP, but only the mouth wound was oxidized, still some wound under the scales appear red. When should I repeat the dip? In 48hrs, or sooner/later? Thank you.

My goldfish had a nasty ulcer on his side. I removed the fish drom the pond and put him in a large bucket. I then squirted the ulcer with Gentian Violet. I left him overnight and put some more on. Then I returned him to his pond and after about two weeks his ulcer has healed!

shaun barry you can use friars balsam to seal wounds. This and peroxide available at chemist

My fish is not responding well to this treatment, it flips over right after the dip. Concern it will not make it overnight!

If the fish is in bad condition it won't do well. Reduce the time in the dip and judge on the fishes behaviour

You should put airstone for 20 minutes before put the fish inside it !

@@koiselectsa I think what he meant was you are supposed to let it gas off 20 mins before you put the fish in with heavy aeration. Then during the bath or dip you need to use aerator too. It doesn’t appear that you did
