Very well explained. you covered all important basis. It is mind boggling to me, why it is so little known in the US; we have been using it in tanks in Europe for the last 50 years, at least.

$ The industry is plagued with greed and misinformation. They just want to sell you commercial chemicals or meds.

tks for the vid. couple things you can try when using potassium permanganate. I make a stock solution using 8gr/100ml distilled water. use a bottle with a squeeze dropper so you can apply when needed. keeop it in a dark bottle or wrapper because it is light sensitive. usually 3~4 drops per Liter is ok for a bath for bettas and paradise fish. but be careful, this can kill so watch for stress. it is good to follow up with hydrogen peroxide because it will remove any necrotic flesh if you are treating for flukes or other parasites. the hydrogen peroxide should be 3% at about .5ml/L (sometimes people get confused with 30% solution and that can also kill). PP is a good pond treatment and koi guys use it often to keep the pond healthy. this is a great treatment for most external problems because it is an oxidizer and doesnt rely on a medication interaction. I use it for fungal, bacterial and parasites as a first line of treatment. one or two baths followed by salt bath will clear up just about anything external. and it is very cheap and available. tks again for the viid

Thats roght! I forgot to mention i only use 3% because thats the amount that is legally sold in drugstores. But 30% does exist for laboratory or industrial purposes.

I just got it for disease purpose, however I'm scared to use it on my tanks ,due to theres snails everywhere little Ramshorn type and plants. I've been fighting something that regular Antibiotics have not worked. I believe its Collumnaris or Costia they scratch and stop eating get a bent look after time. Snails are a problem with this med or is it safe
@BlackwaterAquatics9 ай бұрын
The bent lookbis sign of mycobacteria infection, whichbis incurable. However PP is effective for external infection as a bath. And yeah it might kill your invert, or it might not depending on the strength.

What is your routine for treating velvet with this?
@maddyclement819610 ай бұрын
I have a betta and 3 cory catfish, showing signs of velvet. I don’t have a hospital tank so I’m looking for something to treat the fish and tank simultaneously
@BlackwaterAquatics10 ай бұрын
@@maddyclement8196 in a seperate hospital tank, do a potassium permagonate treatment just like i show you in the video. Then use acryflavine for 3 weeks. I was gonna make a seperate video on how to treat using this method but i havent had velvet since!
