in today's video we're going to talk about How to Treat Meibomian Gland Dysfunction Naturally but first i want you to understand the meibomian glands; what they are, where they are, what they do, etc. because knowledge of the meibomian glands is absolutely critical to knowledge of dry eye and i talk about meibomian glands in practically every video i make!
there's a seemingly never-ending list of things you can do to get natural MGD relief I've made tip videos about natural dry eye relief, as have lots of other docs on KZbin but I recently realized something nobody has made a video about yet is why a natural eye care routine and natural products are such a big part of managing your MGD, and that's what we'll cover now; the most recent natural treatment options and you'll finally understand why it's so critical to methodically choose your treatments and stack them effectively rather than just trying any new treatment you see in a commercial or combining treatments while uninformed of underlying systemic problems.
So in today's video we're gonna demystify the meibomian glands, you will finally understand why they're important to your precious little eye holes and how to support their functionality as well as how to treat MGD naturally, holistically and organically where possible . . .let’s go

One of the most important natural treatments for MGD and/or DED is your diet! So let's get right into dietary considerations even though we're talking about the d word today. I want to make clear that thinking of this like a "diet" will not be as helpful as slowly changing your habits and choosing foods that heal instead of foods that inflame.
Making one small good choice one good decision per day can make a measurable impact on the state of your dry eye long term. if any one of these suggestions sounds to you like, "oh yes that's definitely something i can do", then start there and slowly work towards making that a habit.

I had to look at my medical optometry records to discover what type of dry eye condition I have (which is from MGD). My Optometrist mentioned my eyes being dry on exam, but I did not know about MGD before. You’re definitely not alone.

I can see that pattern over and over agan. "my eyedoctor never told me this etc" Sorry but how can this be? It is the number 1 eye desease and all eyedoctors seem to do is to prescribe artificial tears and call it a day. what is going on there?

My eyes burn within minutes of looking at a screen (tv, phone, etc) I also get pain in my orbital area that feels like its coming from the eye muscle. This pain can be intense. Are these signs of dry eye?

Warm compresses made my MGD far worse and I didn't understand why as the general consencus is its the cornerstone of treatment. My optician told me I was wasting my time with cleaning, lubricating etc unless I compressed first. Mostly everywhere you look tells you to use warm compresses. Thanks for confirming it's definitely not helpful for everyone.

Felling bad after heating mask doesn't mean it doesn't work. The aim is to deblock the glands, but the mask creates inflammation too, that's the problem. So maybe the solution is to go on with mask but using prp drops right after to lessen the inflammation. Or use the mask once a week.,

Are you still using Tretinoin but avoiding the eye area? I've adjusted my application by applying Tretinoin to the sides where my crow's feet are and around the orbital bone, never above the thin layer of skin.

@@chris5897no I stopped after only 2,5 weeks. 6-7 uses. My eyes never recovered until now. I am still hoping they will at some point. It’s pretty bad. Never applied close to eyes but probably migrated or got it in eyes through pillow or rubbing eyes. Have my hands in my face a lot.
