I think you can do as much or as little as you want. We just tried to build the best van we could.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Those rivets are aluminium, that body work is steel. You will get galvanic corrosion, due to the disimilarities in the metals, you have effectively created a cathode and an anode.... i'd suggest some reading time before you go further, i'd hate to see you have problems down the line. Good luck!

I will take a look at this in more detail thanks for heads up. I think the paint will create a good barrier but if not I can just drill them out.

Steve is not wrong Matt, although the anode/cathode analogy is misleading as there is no fluid catalyst, the term is actually galvanic oxidation is an electromechanical process were one metal corrodes another at its contact point. Land Rover owners are well versed in such matters and use all kinds of non-conductive tapes and barriers during rebuilds to try and mitigate this problem. PS I have a Grand California 680, and I believe you’ll be more expensive than mine cost by the time you’re done, and I have the same wheels, tyres, suspension as you as well as solar and lithium ion batteries, but I’m watching avidly anyway, good luck. 🤞

I plan to order some stainless steel rivets and drill them all out. Thank you for the info.
