I think J/P on its own is so contradictory to guess. Very few people seem completely dom in one direction. An ESFP and ISFJ are both known procrastinators but both can also be very productive. Knowing their other functions is almost mandatory to figuring out J/P.

But, from my point of view I’d phrase it in a similar way if I was trying to determine my actual type in the very beginning of my MBTI journey lol. @@NightCloudI if you like tests, i think the best one out there is the sakinorva one. it gives a lot of insight into which functions you use the most (according to curated questions ofc). but take your time with it! in the end mbti is just a tool we can use to understand and improve ourselves, so don't stress too much over getting the right one quickly. our self-views are always changing so it can be difficult to recognize our cognitive patterns. nobody is black and white, and nobody "fits" one type perfectly or all of the time. i hope you find your answer!!

I don't think it's quite liked, it's just that many people who are actually interested in personality types tend to relate to infj descriptions. You are not sure who you really are, where your passions lie? You'd rather read some text than talk about it to people? You like that some of the descriptions aren't about anything very tangible, that you can't pinpoint specific behaviours as specific types? ​@@NightCloudIThat test is worthless. The questions are poorly written and based solely on the letter dichotomies, so I think the majority of people get an incorrect result. The intuitive bias built into the questions is perhaps the most egregious. My sisters, an ESFJ and ESTJ, got ENFJ and ENTJ on that test because they value their intuition very highly, but it's Ne that they use, not Ni, so the result didn't really match them, and they could tell when they started looking into the types more. I know several other people who have gotten incorrect results, but I won't bore you with them all.

That's more like xNTJ. Real NTPs know they don't have all the information on most things and there are multiple perspectives that are valid if the logic is sound, or even if they understand why someone would feel that way given their perceived framework. Ne is doing the work here, Te Ni users are the ones who are one track minded and everything is fact or contradiction. Although NTPs are exactly like NTJ when the fact is actually obvious as everything else has a contradiction

And then there's me, who loves to claim that almost everything is a social construct (including MBTI). Most things I believe are either metaphysics or a logical consequence of something metaphysical. I also believe that if an objective reality does exist, no person can ever have 100% objective perception of it. Having more evidence increases the robustness of a claim. However I don't believe there's such thing as a claim that is 100% objective (unless the claim is totally detached from the physical world). If there is an objective truth out there (which is a claim I don't think anyone can make objectively), I believe that everyone's perspective has a fragment of this truth (of course the size of this fragment may vary). What we should seek is integration of these "truths" to seek the best APPROXIMATION of an objective truth. Also just to trigger everyone here, let me subjectively claim to be an INTP.

I'm actually going to make this assertion: I get consistently typed as INTP, which is common for a demographic I belong to, but was much more outgoing as a child, with identifiable reasons that that stopped. It's not about how outgoing you are, but about whether Fe or Si is a bigger problem for you. ENTPs value Fe and fear Si, while INTPs value Si and fear Fe. The blind spot function is a big clue as well. (This is how my husband and I determined whether he's an ENFP or an INFP. His behavior under stress really shows his inferior Si, as he tends to irrationally dwell on a single detail for no good reason. Also, I've found INFPs better at Ti than ENFPs - my husband has real disdain for this function - hence the blind spot being a good clue.)

I was once discussing MBTI with an MBTI-sceptical, clearly-ISTJ friend (no trace of Fe, at least). In the course of conversation, we managed to both agree he's operating on the Fi-Te axis. At last, as a conclusion I got: "You know what? I am an INFJ after all. Everyone's known for a long time how similar we are." And, as a comment to my description of disadvantages related to high Fe, "I was once like that, but I took a grip on myself. I believe you will too". --- yes, a clearly-triggered INFJ

I'm an MBTI enthusiast and actually use this system a lot as a writer because it's the easiest personality system for me to understand at the moment, but I have to admit it's meant to be indicative only. Because of the way personalities are established, they depend a lot on the person's emotional state and some mental issues. Like for example if you have ADHD you should definitely be E__P. You have to consider those percentages, it's a different combination for everyone and every test. It helps you get to know yourself better, but it's a momentary thing, you won't have the exact same results for the rest of your life. I for one fluctuate between mostly INFJ and then INTJ and INTP and less of the rest of the introverts. The only thing I ask is that you don't equate MBTI with astrology. All the people who believe in astrology that I have met have no idea that the zodiac dates are wrong because since they were originally established, the times when the zodiac constellations are in the sky have changed. If you still believe in the stars, at least believe in what it is now, not what it was hundreds of years ago. They don't even know what they believe.

This is hilarious coming from a ESFP as this is how my feedback came from talking about "NBTI" to an ISFP friend, who she has said some of the dumbest things I have heard in this lifetime & the next - your friendly neighborhood INFJ Superstar ;))) on a more serious note regarding the video I think its funny the people who say "MBTI isn't real" without even considering anything which was one of the things the ISFP said then mentions you should study astrology & aliens she would be "interested" in that LOL. It's weird people who don't even give NBTI a chance usually talk about not putting people into boxes, yet people who say don't put people into boxes are the ones who try to enforce & change your thinking and beliefs into theirs. Basically putting you in their box(cognitive functions) hypocrites lmao
