Why did you spend triple the money to get a hard tab with a crease where the string is supposed to seat When you just shoot randomly place the string in the middle of the leather? A soft pliable 12$ tab would do VS that 45$ tab where the string is supposed to sit where the aluminum meets the leather.

no its not. The aluminium is used to measure stringwalking depth. It has nothing to do with where the string goes. Hes absolutely right.
