Good tip. Started with an 18lbs on a wooden riser barebow, moved to 20lbs then now on the 22lbs draw. Then moved from a 66in to now a 68in. Was advised by my local archery store to move 4lbs higher as a next step.

Thanks Broski. I had purchase the trophy room hitman stabilizer set 12 in the front 10 in the back however with all the attachment parts I was well over 12 inches on the front so I ended up flipping the 12th to the rear 10 to the front now I’m within regulations And I think I like the stability better this way

Got a new bow, I was shooting it and it was cutting up my wrist to the point where they were bleeding and no matter what I did with my bow I could not fix it, turns out from the store they gave me a 4.5 inch brace height when the recommended for this bow is 8.5 who knows what damage I did to my bow

I am using Beiter Pin nocks on both Compound (Hunter Large) and Recurve ( Asymetric small). I find them easy to use and the Beiters fit tighter than the Easton nocks. Am I being foolish using pin nocks or are they ok?
@Archery360
@Archery360 2 ай бұрын
As long as you are using the pin nocks with an appropriate string diameter and poundage, go with what works for you.

@@Archery360 Thanks for taking the time to answer! Very kind of you. I’m using the asymmetric nocks on recurve and hunter nocks on compound. I switched my recurve to a GAS bow string and the fit is much better, perfect I think. $60.00 for a recurve string seems like a lot but it is at least as important a component of the system as anything else and a lot more important than most. I hate to be a Beiter fanboy but I always look to see what they have and what they are doing. They don’t ever do things for no reason.

Okay so...in my case when i draw the bow the pin goes down and then rise up to aim for the center ..but still i can't control the aim in the center ...the pin dosent go any left or right ...when i try to control the aim ..i realease the arrow in between like my aim that time is in down 8 or 7 ........idk if you will understand or not 🙄
@Archery360
@Archery360 2 ай бұрын
If your aim is largely moving up and down, it may be a bow setup issue. You might have too much weight on the front stabilizer or you may not have enough holding weight in comparison to your overall bow mass weight. Draw length could also play a role here. Try making some bow adjustments and see if things improve or you might be able to video yourself and observe where the issue is originating.

try this to easily pull your practice arrows out of your targets. take a file or grinding wheel and carefully take off the very end sharp point on your field tips. it won't change the weight or the flight or the speed but it will make it a pleasure to pull your arrows out of those bags or blocks or 3d targets.

Good in so far as it goes. However, it is worth noting that not all Trad bow arrow rests are the same. Some have a flat or even a very narrow shelf or radiused internal angle mandating a canted grip attitude. Not all have an included angle between shelf and strike plate of 90 degrees or less. Further, the fittings/pads applied to these features are not all two pieces with a fletching separation, some are a one piece wrap around. Narrow rest, gentle radius or included angle of greater than 90 degrees and one piece padding can all contribute to locating and keeping the arrow on the rest more difficult without canting the bow. IMHO there is a reason why modern bows designed for use without canting have either cupped rest or included rest angles of less than 90 degrees. For what it's worth, ensure your shelf and striker plate configuration are conducive to your bow and style of shooting for the most forgiveness of imperfect form and don't be afraid to modify them accordingly. Remembering that any shelf and striker plate may affect nocking point and arrow dynamic spine requirement respectively.

What about adjusting plunger before adjusting point or spine weight?
@Archery360
@Archery360 5 ай бұрын
In this case, we are tuning a traditional recurve or longbow that does not have a plunger installed. Plunger tension can be used in the tuning process, but is usually reserved for making small adjustments later in the process. Adjusting plunger tension can also change the point of impact for the fletched shaft, so that must be taken into consideration as well.

This needs to be updated and posted more and more. Something so many people don’t do is get into ARCHERY SHOOTING SHAPE! This is so important as no one can begin to learn the small intricacies of shooting. Like this video on “ not aiming”. Nearly every part time bow shooter strains their guts out fighting to get that pin on a spot. You don’t have to do it that way. Learn to have the best form and shooting process you can. Then figure out to mentally relax and let the pin float WHEREVER it’s at. In the beginning it probably won’t be on the bullseye but continue your normal best process and shoot. DO NOT FIGHT the pin. Learn to position your feet, hips, shoulders in a position so when you are drawn the pin is almost, if not, on or very very close to the bullseye. This is what it’s supposed to be. All lined up where you don’t have to AIM. Your mind will subtly move the pin that last fraction of an inch BY ITSELF because your focus is supposed to be on the exact spot you want to hit. You won’t be fighting anything. It will all come together easily. But you have to practice seriously to get to this point. You can’t do it with 50 or a 100 shots. You have to retrain your body AND your mind. GOOD LUCK FOLKS.

I am struggling brother. My nock point is left of my shaft implying it is too weak, but when I shoot a weaker arrow, it seems to straighten out. Shooting 47# at 28 draw with a 30" arrow (Legacy 400 spine) and a 175 grains up front. According to the chart, I am on the bubble of going up in spine to 340, but when I shoot the 500 shaft with 175 grain up front she straightens up. Just feel lost.
@Archery360
@Archery360 8 ай бұрын
Archery is funny that way! There are a lot of factors that come into play here, and many of them involve the archer a whole lot more than the bow and arrow. One possible scenario is that you aren't actually getting to a full 28" draw and the arrow is actually so stiff that it's showing a "false reading" that it's weak. This can happen when the back end of the arrow slams into the riser and gets pushed to the left. This would explain why going to a weaker spine corrects things. Your release also has a lot to do with how arrow spine reacts. One archer may need a stiffer or weaker arrow on the same bow depending upon how cleanly the string pops through the fingers. Keep shooting and don't overthink a good bare shaft tune!

Suggestion … best that you unstrung your recurve boe(s) before hanging them up for display …
@Archery360
@Archery360 8 ай бұрын
With modern materials and laminated limbs, it’s generally not necessary to unstring the bow for short-term storage. It is important to store the bow where it will not be in high heat or humidity and you should avoid standing the bow up on a limb tip. With “self bows” made from a single piece of wood, unstringing between uses is more important so the bow maintains the desired poundage.

Thanks! I have low poundage and could hit 50 meters by drooping my sight all the way down. but not 70 meters... never thought to bring the sight in closer to the bow. can't wait to try this!
