What did you do at the jamb and head throat? Just paint the drywall returns?

is that assuming that same board has stayed in the house a week before acclimating to the normal inside temps? why not just leave a 1/8" on on cut for 1/16" on both sides to fit easier and give a small room for any expansion since those sills get warm and cold? I do like how tight it is but arent you going to silicone them anyways? We all spill our plant water/coffee there eventually :P

Yes these boards had sat for probably close to two weeks when I did them. I guess you could leave a gap. I just like having it tight so the painter wants to keep following you and the homeowner doesn’t panic.

@@berlinbuilds yeah normal homeowners don't know about expansion and then freak out. Looks good. I always thought that overhang went through the wall since most homes have 20 layers of paint over it hah. That's the apron ?
@berlinbuilds2 жыл бұрын
For sure! I'm pretty sure that piece is called the sill. The apron is the casing piece underneath (at least that's what I've always called it and I've been self-taught in a few aspects, so my terminology is somewhat questionable at times).

did you say 46 1/4 "minus" ? what does the "minus" mean?
@0xSol_Invictus Жыл бұрын
nm now I hear you saying 9/16 "plus" so I guess it means just barely below or above a measurement
@berlinbuilds Жыл бұрын
I use it for 32nd of an inch. If the measurement is the space between 1/4” and 5/16”, I usually just say “1/4 plus” instead of calculating the 32nds of 9/32nds 👍

Jeeeez… Just use millimetres. It’s so much easier 😄

Well, I think I would die a little inside if I did!
