Very nice to see this I own a private gardening business Flower Heads inc. in Ponte vedra and we shave all the stems and and burrs on the trunk and dig up all the sprouting pups underneath as well as said very nice to see someone else do this in a nearby local area subscribed

I just got some Sago palms. And I've noticed that the trunk can get rather ugly and I was wondering if there was a way to shave it. And you have answered that. Thank you

If you actually cut your sago fronds you end up with the spiky ends sticking out as shown prior to him trimming. I always take off my dropping fronds by grabbing them by the end and "snapping" them hard to the side. Which snaps them off clean leaving no spiky ends. Been doing it for 20 years and no issues on my 5 sagos.

I live in the Atlanta area and I think for here it is better to leave some „bark“ on for winter protection. But the sagos you cut look very neat !

Would you consider cutting into the trunk to make the tree easier to remove completely?

. In my home garden, sycd was grown 15 years ago. During the first 13 years it was good, but in the last two years, the growth of the leaves began to be incomplete. Note that I fertilize it every winter with manure or compost, and during the summer with NPK fertilizer. Help us❤

How do you kill these dang sago????
@brianstephens4768 Жыл бұрын
Thats all wrong. He said he was "trimming" it because it was touching the other hedge. When deciding what plant to remove when two plants are growing together pick the right one. The sago will always grow out and touch the hedge and you'll have to keep it limited to just one row of stems. Sagos should have several rows of stems to stay healthy. I would remove that first leggy ass ligustrum that's going to decline anyways and let the Sago fill out.

If it wer my house. It would be the first thing gone. Unfortunately the customer wants both to stay. Never seen a sago suffer from trimming like this. Thanks for watching

Sorry bro you did it very poor job on that one you cut it too short you should have cut the hedge instead no matter how small might have made it not the sago palm that short. I have them all over my house and I've never had looked that ugly.
