Neat 😎 I do alright but I really do it for fun but did upgrade to propane furnace/ forge I do giveaways and have picked up some folks who buy them. Awesome video keep it up. Don't forget your time is money bro 😄

Thanks for the update bro! I've been thinking about doing the same thing and seeing how it works out for me. From your results it seems to be worth the time and effort.

@@Zizarkis1THANKS!! It really is!! And it's tons of fun. Doesn't take much to get started either. I have plans to attempt a waste oil burning furnace. Gonna take some work but if I can melt with used motor oil that takes away any cost of electric or propane for the furnace!!!! So far I've made decent profits selling in 5lb sets with the buyer paying shipping. But purple are also buying the 1lb ingots as well!! Gonna do some brass soon, hopefully this weekend.

You've found a great way to sell your ingots bro. Much better than taking them to the yard so props to you.

I think it depends on who you are selling to and your relationship with scrap yards and refiners. I enjoy melting down copper and aluminum into dars or ever old toys.

Glad these sold on ebay. I'm starting to think ebay is really pushing people towards having to pay the "promotion" fees to get watchers/bidders.
@jacobhiatt33076 күн бұрын
Also I melt my coated copper in my propane furnace and it burns off the lacquer, haven't had any problems with that.
@ScrapDaddy3656 күн бұрын
@@jacobhiatt3307 man me too 🤣 that's pretty much it, unless you have a mainstream popular item that a lot of people are actually searching you'll get overlooked without paying to promote your listing. At least that's the way it seems to me.

if you get some stacker customers you can sell direct. I'm thinking of getting a furnace to melt my own but I'm not a scrapper so I don't run into a lot. I've heard people that use it for art or industry will buy bars to. I just bought three 1 pounders on ebay for an art project. I'm stacking copper to for my hoard. Haven't bought silver since it was 20 an ounce.

@@timothylongmore7325 GREAT INFO, and thank you so much for watching!! eBay flagged me after my last sale for passing on my email and phone number to a customer, but I'm sure there is a way around it.
@luciencloutier30359 күн бұрын
I think your prices were reasonable and congratulations on your successful auction. Yeah, cost a little in gas but I think you did well.
@ScrapDaddy3659 күн бұрын
Thanks Buddy! It's an electric furnace but a small one, I'll have to look up the kilowatt-hour rating on it and I can get an almost exact cost of operating it if I time the entire process.
@timothylongmore73259 күн бұрын
ebay buries your ad if you don't give them their bribe , and tax , and shipping label.
@ScrapDaddy3659 күн бұрын
@@timothylongmore7325 seems that way unfortunately! All of that just equals higher prices for the buyers. 🫤
@TrekTracks747 күн бұрын
Are you still coming out ahead with the extra cost of propane?
@ScrapDaddy3657 күн бұрын
@@TrekTracks74 great question and thank you for watching!! The furnace I'm using is a small electric furnace. I'm going to do the math on the kilowatt hours used and compare it with the cost of electric. I'll be posting that soon but I believe there is still a big profit margin!
