In case it helps anyone: I have a CL500 (C216) with the standard (non-logic 7) amp. Randomly, I got no audio from any of the speakers regardless of the source, but navigation still worked (without any sound). Also CDs wouldn't register, nor could I load dvds. All of the FM radio stations dissappeared from the tuner, and i couldn't even select AM. The only fault STAR showed was that the tuner needed reflashing, but after it was reflashed, the symptoms stayed the same... After a lot of swearing, sweat and tears, I was fairly certain it's the amp in the boot, but didn't want to buy one off ebay which may fail after a month. I eventually got a reconditioned amp (i had to give my old one back) from the Mercedes dealer for £340, with a two year warranty. i thought I'd share this incase anyone is in the same boat and really dosent want to get a second hand unit. Edit: I forgot to say I also had bought a fiber optic loop cable, but after bypassing each component in the boot in turn, it made no difference. This is because you can not bypass the amp, and it was the amp that was faulty

@@Moneys7083 the amp from the dealership was £340. Two years later the amp is still working just fine. Installation I did myself, I unplugged the connectors from the old amp and put in the new amp, and it worked straightaway, no coding was needed, if was plug and play in my case (non-logic 7).

Is this similar to trouble shooting a Mercedes E350 2010? Is the voice command and satellite module also in the trunk like this S class? I'm able to operate the command unit (CD, Radio, GPS) only issue is no sound is coming through, also won't let me control the volume with the steering wheel button or center knob. Is it possible my issue is just the voice command module needing to be looped? I also have the Harman Kardon system, not sure if that would change any of the layout.

Hello, I changed both batteries in the car and fully charged, and then cut the car on and went to the back trunk area and noticed I had red fiber optic lighting, IN ALL 3, but then it would go away! I could hear the fan in the amp working, does that mean the app is good if the fan is on? Amazon sent me the wrong loopers so I couldn’t go that route at the moment, but I unplugged each device except the amp and I got sound, then it cut off again and on the screen showing please wait telephone, It kept rebooting and clicking noise with sound then eventually again no sound at all! Also if I go to the center console and click the on and off button a few times that would get my radio station to pop on but now no sound and no movement when turning the dial. Also when I did have sound and press the voice command button on the steering wheel, it will work. But when I have no sound at all of course it doesn’t. After messing with it everything’s completely silent, but I still get the radio station displayed on the screen, even the navigation still works, but just no sound, with the amp fan and rear light going. Please help we could be the problem do you think? I know this is a lot but thank you in advance.

If you bypass the Voice module and Satellite radio and still no sound then the amplifier is faulty.

Salam and thank you for the video. Here is my problem: I have a 2005 S43o. Once in a while I get the message "System Unavailable". The Tele doesn't blink on fiber optic when I get this message. I loop the fiber optic and still nothing works. But the system starts to work on it own after driving about 20 miles or so. When the system is working, I get the blinking on the tele and on the fiber op. One time I looped the fiber ops on the tele and after a few miles of driving the system came back active but there was no sound. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help.

The problem is in the trunk. You need to bypass them one at a time and try it out. The only component that you can not bypass is the Audio Gateway module.

If the car goes to sleep for a while, or if I disconnect the battery for a while. The radio and audio functions will work, but after turning the car off they do not work until I either disconnect the battery or let the car sleep for a certain amount of time. Is this the same thing?

Hello, 1 week ago i was driving and audio just shut down.. my musics on PCMCIA did not start and radio could not play sounds.. next 2 days audio was off too .... Tuner was blank same for AUX or PCMCIA.. Nav and Phone were working perfectly.. (but no sound..) the sound cameback after these two days.. for only 4 days.. and it did not work anymore.. the next day it works like 5 min and shutdown.. Today it wasnt working till tonight and for the 4 days after.. and this morning not working anymore.. where do you think it can came from? this is an optic fiber problem ? contact failure? It seems like it shuts down when there is rain... If your CD changer does not eject nor load then the CD Changer mechanism is faulty and bypass won't help you at all. But if it eject and loads fine, then there is a %5 chance that the Voice Module could be causing the CD changer not to work and in this case bypass could fix the issue.

If there is no other components in the trunk with the fiber optic connection then most likely the Amp is faulty. Amplifier can't be bypassed like the other components in the trunk.

The radio and sound fuse is done. Change the fuse. The fuse blew. Audio radio Tuner is done. Either it blew or it’s done. F121 and F 103 must be change

@@HiTechElectronic ok so I’m reading through comments here. Sounds like you can’t bypass the cd Changer. I tried bypassing the satellite tuner, voice control and amp, one at a time and did not change my problem with radio not showing channels or move the needle, I insert cd and only shows 1 track but doesn’t play. And obviously no sound. I think it may be CD changer. Your thoughts

My 2011 s550 display shows no radio lines. My amp has the light on, still no sound. I bypass the amp and radio and still no sound. It say Device not available.

Bypass the radio Tuner in the trunk only and make sure everything else is hooked up then play a CD, if you have audio then tuner needs to be repaired.

@@HiTechElectronic when I checked mine I only checked the radio I guess and did not try to play a cd. I should try this again I think and try playing a cd when bypassing radio tuner. Alternatively if it was the satellite radio module that was busted and I bypassed that one, wouldn’t my radio work? Thanks
